In fact the only Ryzen used was a 3600 and not obviously on cyberpunk sooo, slow news day at Tom's, yet they're not trying to denigrate. Ryzen In This piece, just your thread on it does.

I'm telling you it had f all to do with ryzen, and very little todo with cyberpunk.

They didn't have or use the game.

They didn't have respectively required specs.

They do not fully know what technologies the game uses, yes we know it uses raytracing but that's about it.

They did have three random Pc's varying from about £850(ryzen 3600) to £2500(Guess) lying about ,witcher 3 and some opinions.

they made reasonable assertions, so basically boiling it down to one line.

A Better, more expensive pc by a factor of three, can be expected to run the game better, but they can't guarantee it.

As to the tom's piece, it is a article, yes, where someone comes up with an arbitrary setup, while fantastic, still just a guess.
Notice that all parts of said system are linked to, where (I'm guessing) associate links are used.

If people were to take the advice, and start now to get ahead of the curve, Tom's gets paid along the way. Interest piece with monetary gains to be had. Many sites do similar things. It works, it's here being discussed, isn't it?

Not a great article because it isn't factual but a guess of what it may require to run well at 2560x1440. And looks about spot on. High end CPU, 6-8 cores? Yeah. SSD? Yeah. RTX 2080 or better? Probably. If you want RTX on, will need something better I assume. 32GB of RAM? Doubtful you'll need over 16GB.

So while not a technical article (Tom's isn't my favorite place because of this) it probably isn't too far off.

I dont consider myself of fan of either Intel or AMD (I own CPUs from both) but rather a fan of performance for my dollar. That said a developer with a strong history of having their games CPU performance optimized (remember the Witcher 3 actually did well with the FX-8 CPUs when it offered mediocre performance in most games) now needs a modern 6C/12T CPU to "run Cyberpunk 2077 at 1080p and high/ultra settings, while still getting close to 60 fps" as not denigrating?

Everyone knows based on CDPR's history this game will be extremely demanding on ultra settings when it comes to pushing GPU performance. That said their history with CPU optimization on the REDengines is excellent.

Okay, we know what you're thinking: Over $1,800 just to play Cyberpunk 2077 is ludicrous! Except, you wouldn't just be able to play Cyberpunk, and this high-end PC can handle anything else you might want to throw at it. You could get more cores for better multi-threaded performance with a Ryzen 9 3900X or Core i9-10900K, but as we're mostly focusing on the gaming aspect here, Intel's new Core i7-10700K is arguably the best choice.

If you're more interested in the minimum requirements to get Cyberpunk 2077 running, still with ray tracing support, here's a lesser build. It's still moderately expensive, and we can't guarantee high framerates with all the graphics settings turned up, but it should at least deliver a decent gaming experience.
