Yesterday i want to open my gpu for reapplying thermal paste but i cant open some screws that hold the top shroud because the top of the screws already loose. Any tips for safe way to opening loose screws on gpu? Thank you

I'd use a slightly too big torx or flat head for that, and high but careful pressure. There are still some edges for grip.

dam thats loose but do you have a bigger L key or screw driver for this ?

You need some kind of paper or elastic material on the tip of screw driver that can help to tight those slippery spaces in the screw.

A good nose plas might also do the honors.

Yeah this is very loose. I already tried using aluminum foil and rubber band but still cannot. I have L keys like this and big magnet screwdriver like this

Again, slightly too big torx or flat. That screw is soft metal, meaning you can wedge a driver in the hole and hopefully get a grip. Push down hard and turn very gently.

I guess the star shaped screw driver has done enough damage. Correct me if im wrong but the the screw is not star shaped ?
If you have the exact L key that fits the screw. Use that. The aluminium foil if still does not tight up, fold it to make a bit thick and place it on the screw. Press the L key on to the screw with the foil being already place on the screw. Push it but be careful with the card.
Once it tights up gently move it anti clock wise. The trick is the pressure and slow anti clockwise movement.

Yeah the screw is flat shaped not star shaped. Ok thx for the advice i'll try it

Fyi, "loose" isn't the right term. The head of the screw is "stripped". :)

Here are several ways to remove it... https://www.google.com/search?q=str...droid-verizon&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8
Ok thx man i'll try the steps
