Apparently they make 22" (21.5?) 144hz 1080p monitors now for higher pixel density... who knew?

Nice catch, bro!!! :rockout: Might have just found a perfect monitor to replace my aging 2.5 decade old monitor. Problem is, I still like my crappy-ass monitor & considering my system spec (listed in my profile), I'm not due for an upgrade. The pricing & spec on that monitor is a good fit for me though so I will bookmark this product for when I'm ready to get it.

Wait what there's nothing wrong with 24" 1080p monitors I wouldn't go over that though my mate has a 27" 1090p monitor and I can definitely notice the pixels on it but not on my 24"

it's a personal opinion for everyone. the bigger pixels on a 24" 1080p really just don't work for me. 25" is a major no. surprisingly 23.8" 1080p is somewhat ok... but the 24.5" models for some reason the pixels are just noticeably bigger... but imo 22" is the sweet spot for 1080p. 27" for 2560x1440 and 32" for 4k. 34" for 3440x1440 is better than 35" 3440x1440 as well.

this should all be standard imo, but everyone likes something else, so its no big deal i suppose

I suspect this all depends on the panel's proper implementation of pixel density & correct viewing distance. That is why there exist 13 inch 4K monitor as well as a 1080p 85 inch TV or even 50+ inch 480i TV back in the day.

Def the upper limit, 24 inch for 1080p. Higher is visible. Its also visible at 24 inch, but you can unnotice it and AA will fix things as well.

But yeah the slightly higher PPI of just over 100 is definitely more on the sweet spot side. 1440p/27 also has somewhat higher density than 1080p/24.

Interesting line of products, these 22 inchers. Good find I think.

I thought it was 1440p and got excited... oh well, guess I'm still waiting for 1440p and 1600p resolutions to come down to 24-inch screens (22 would be even sweeter).

Still a good find though.

Well, it is written on the thread title that it's 1080p. What aspect ratio are you expecting with 1600p?

Considering there is always a clutter of crap along with my keyboard between me and the monitor, I never really noticed the low density with 27 in 1080p monitor I use at work.

Just FYI,
the users that bought this monitor are saying that this is actually a 120 Hz monitor and that it has to be OC'd to 144 Hz.
Despite it being advertised as a 144hz monitor, it turns out it is only 120hz and in the instruction book it came with it said it must be overclocked to get 144hz (which just so happens to void the warranty). They pulled a sneaky sneaky on me. I’ll be doing some research to overclock it of course. Still, false advertising is a big no no for me.
Not a true 144hz, its a 120hz. not terrible, but false advertisement

From the manual:
Overclocking — DisplayPort (DP) Only Depending on your graphics card, it may be possible to overclock the monitor’s refresh rate up to 140Hz (overclocked from 120Hz native). Doing so may limit max. resolution as determined by your graphics card. Overclocking can result in image distortion based on the configuration of the connected device. It may be possible to reduce distortion by lowering monitor resolution.

Do you really notice a difference from 22 to 24 in pixel density at 1080p?

Definitely. I have a 1440p 27" and a 21.5" 1080p side by side and the PPI is comfortably similar between the two. But when I swap the 21.5" out for an older 24" monitor, I quickly start noticing the pixels. Both of the smaller panels are VA. On the flip side, I really believe that UHD is better on monitors 28" or larger; it's really hard to cram UHD into a 27" panel and notice any significant differences over 1440p.

But you couldn't pay me to use the 21.5" as my only monitor. Too little screen real estate for just about anything I do.

Again, it's down to personal preference. I'm okay with 24" 1080p on its own, but I can't stand 27" 1080p monitors. Others love their 27" 1080p monitors and that's a great thing that it works for them. at the same time, I suspect that if you gave someone like that a 27" 1440p or UHD monitor to use for a year, before taking it away again and forcing them back to 27" 1080p, they might gain some new perspectives and opinions on PPI on that old 27" 1080p panel :D
