It is not about winning. Dude chillax. You need to calm down and get your facts straight.
If you ask me if the 500 EUR is OK for the 5800x that would depend. If you play games only then definitely not. If you do more than that it might be worth it. This is more complex problem here.
If you are willing to wait with any purchases you may buy that CPU cheaper when the availability grows a bit.
I'm sorry but the MSRP for 3900x was $500 so you are not right. MSRP for 5800x is $449 The MSRP prices for both is higher nowadays due to the situation we are dealing with right now. Covid, supply shortages, demand. You need to put all these into the equation not just what proves your point.
Actually quite on the contrary if you are doing more than gaming, 8C for 500€ (I beg your pardon, 497€...) is even a worse deal.

In caso you didn’t notice 5800X was launched months ago.
And 3800X price was LOWER than 5800X, so again you are not right.

3900X was launched at a very similar price (and had a quite fast price cut after that) and was a far better CPU, still faster than 5800X in everything but the gaming. We should have expected something better from AMD.

I will wait for sure, because I’m planning to replace my 3900X with a 5900X, but when prices will start to drop at a more reasonable level.

Oh sure, it is more expensive. It doesn't have fan either. What waste of money. Tip for you. Don't buy it and your problem is over. You don't need it anyway, you got the better deal already.
For price drops below MSRP you may wait a long time. Better Skip this gen.

Both 10th and 11th gen are a PASS for me. Waiting on Alder lake to decide. If that is also meh then I'll go AMD... for the first time in 16 years! What a mess!!!

I never considered the lack of the cooler an issue: I wouldn’t rely on the stock cooler anyway (I’m using the 3900X stock cooler on the 3600X and it is good...).
I’m not in an hurry: I will buy the 5900X the next summer maybe.
For the next gen there will be time... the next year.

It is just one shop.
The one listing at 5150 kr (which is 497€ according to today Google exchange rate).
The second is 5189 kr which is technically more than 500€, since all of you supporters are being picky on purpose ...

By the way, all of you are being picky in order to defend the beloved brand ignoring the point behind my words: 500€ for an 8 core CPU is not a good price. Also 497€ are NOT a good price.
430€ for a 12core CPU were a good price.
But keep ignoring it, if you wish.

What about the seven shops I posted then? One even being at 489, which is 11 eur below 500, includes tax AND shipping (!), so this one sells for less than 10% over MSRP in a situation where demand is very high and supply is rather low.

You keep harping on about the price point being high, we know it is, but that is another discussion entirely. Your initial point was that it was too high due to price increases from AMD. But that is just the MSRP and it does not deviate in a bad way from what Intel is doing now (which is the actual topic's subject, mind). Then you say there are no CPUs even at 10% over MSRP which is 500 eur. We then showed you many examples from different countries proving you otherwise. On top of that, AMD can much more easily defend the price point given the number of cores they offer relative to Intel, and the absolute performance across the board for a wide variety of use cases. What CPU suits your personal situation best, is a personal choice.

Stop moving the goal posts, its sad, we all see it for what it is, and doesn't make you a more credible member on this forum, on the contrary.

Or don't... to each their own. I like to think we're adults capable of discussing something in a normal way. Not by twisting reality.

Yes if you check on German sellers... actually two of them.
The 5800X is £390 at OC UK and Currys right now. Was £379 over the weekend. You are fighting a losing battle. Just admit you were wrong when you claimed you couldn’t find it for €500 in Europe. Or that you are very bad at using price comparison sites.

Brexit - Sorry, due to border delays and Brexit uncertainty, we have temporarily removed some international shipping options.

Try again.
By the way, that is admittedly the best price I’ve seen so far. Maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel...

HAHAHAHAHAHA

AMD is baiting Intel to match their high prices for Ryzen 5000 series.

When Intel releases it's new CPUs AMD will drop their prices enuf to make Intel's CPUs unattractive.

AMD knows that Intel is not flexible and have a real hard time lowering their prices after release, it is not in Intel's DNA to lower prices so AMD will do a refresh and dump prices to keep Intel eating their dust trough out 2021 forcing them to stay at only 15% market share in Desktop rest of the year.

Lisa Su is the SHARK now circling Intel and keeping the pressure up.

For Intel to get out of AMDs hold the have to do something exceptional and these CPUs or prices are not exceptional at all.

I'd just wait for Intel Alder Lake with 10nm or Meteor Lake with 7nm fabrication process.
Can I ask you why not thinking of a Zen 3 or 4 CPU?

Combine this with high motherboard prices and I don't see why this will be too successful against Ryzen 5000.
The only reason I can think of it is higher volume available in the channel, which has always been Intel's strong suit.

But wasn't true even for Coffee Lake in the past years. And maybe it was the same for Comet Lake. There for stock issues for both, especially for 8000 series CPUs as I can recall.

Yes if you check on German sellers... actually two of them.
On Amazon prices are higher, most of the times above 500€, if you can find one.
So your point about 30€ less is a non sense: 5800X is way overpriced since the beginning. Even at 470€.

But I know, according to AMD supporters AMD can’t be wrong. Even when it is.

I wouldn’t buy a Rocket Lake too...

1. I linked two of the biggest German PC webshops. Why isn't that enough? Why do you want to buy from German Amazon if you can get it cheaper in different (also reliable) shops? You can also buy it in 7 of the 25 Microcenter shops (not in webshop atm) for the $450 MSRP.
2. What I said regarding my country (priced between 162-170000 Ft), that includes 5 webshops atm (was 6 when I wrote the reply to you) out of which 4 are absolutely reliable.
3. I have Haswell i5 in my system (and had 1050 Ti before the RX 570, and also had Geforce 3 back in those times for nearly 10 years or so), so I'm not a fanboy. But I do support them in a way that I want them not to be Intel to release generations of CPUs without really upgrading them (no core increase for 9 years or so, only frequency).

All in all, your initial statement was "reality check you cannot find any 5800X at €500 in Europe". Which is NOT true.

Why is the i"9" 30%+ more expensive than the i7, aren't they the same chip?

For the same fab process, Intel generally leads AMD in IPC and general performance. Also, some high performance AMD CPUs consume a lot of power, so you can't use the stock cooler and get quiet operation.
However, if Intel doesn't get their shit together in the next few generations, I just might.

Why is the i"9" 30%+ more expensive than the i7, aren't they the same chip?
i9 is specifically geared towards the enthusiast, so it'd be at least a higher binned chip if it's the same. And that'd mean expensive.

Só much complains. Just get a 11700kf wich is the same thing and stop talking about 11900k pricing.

Wonder why no One mention 11600kf for 200€ wich Will destroy every other CPU on the market for gaming price vs performance wise.

But if you prefer to pay 350€ for a 5600x.... Up to you.

just like a price increase for the same number of cores is just, AMD...

It would be so much better if fanboysm would be left out of this forum...

Stop acting like AMD didn't provide a 20% performance increase...why do so many people think they're entitled to a lot more performance with a commiserate price decrease? seriously. Let's also not forget that the 1800x debuted for $500 and the 5800X is $450 with at least 40% performance increase....did Intel provide anything even remotely close to such a performance increase in the same amount of time in the same time period? If anybody can point to another CPU company providing more to the consumer in the same time period, by all means, whine all you want about AMD...but seriously, I feel like the people whining about the $50 increase (for the literally fastest CPUs on the market) aren't doing so because it's justified base on the subjective circumstances, rather they're whining out of an unjustified sense of entitlement, namely that they're entitled to AMD selling them products at cost or something. For years they complained "AMD needs to make better products", so they do, they make faster CPUs on a more advanced node, and somehow they also think they should still be priced as if they're slower than the competition and on 28nm...seriously, where do you get off? You can't have it both ways. I'm not trying to defend AMD or any corporation either, I'm militantly anti-corporation, but if you're going to criticize something, no matter what it is, it has to be justified and not just because "I want things cheaper because I want things cheaper".

Ironically, if you want things cheaper, all you gotta do is chase the cutting edge a bit later. I can't get past the stupidity of a whole forum of nerds thinking their early adopting upgrade itch is going to be financially sound. That's like expecting a Hummer to do 1:20 for you instead of 1:4 and getting your panties in a bunch when the tank is empty.

performance increase from a generation to another is something absolutely normal and expected. Otherwise there wouldn't be any needs for a new generation.
But price increase are not automatically justified.
Nobody requested a price decrease. Just to keep the prices on the same level...

But I know very well it is a waste of time to speak with AMD supporters: AMD just can't be wrong. Even if they are wrong
