Good move, AMD, with the direct buy, just like what Samsung does.

seriously considering driving to cambridge to grab a Ryzen 9 5950X from Microcenter

you have to love a PC/electronics store, that has shopping carts to put GPU's & CPU's in

I just got home from the local store, got a Razer Naga X mouse. My razer naga 2014 is starting to die on me, and for RPG games I need NEED my naga. I am really loving the X version, it's sooo much better than 2014 version. What a great mouse. warranty should be 3 years instead of two years though, shame on you razer for being so cheap on the warranty. for non-rpg hames I use my Logitech g502 SE

5600x sold out but 5800x still in stock, and has been for quite some time now. looks like stock is finally getting back to normal on CPU side of things. probably cause there are no gpu's to buy lol

yep I am surprised 5800x is still in stock for so long.

I would guess the 5900x for $100 more is what people are waiting for.

To me the best value is either the 5600x or 5900x. 5950x if you're gonna go HAM.

this is very true. actually the only reason I found and posted this sale was because I keep checking it for 5900x, so you are 100% accurate. my hope is I can get a 5900x and sell my 5600x for little to no loss.

Just keeping the party going. If you just so happen to live near a Microcenter, they have both (the 5600k and 5800k) in stock $20 below MSRP.

:toast:

seems odd to me they would sell $20 below MSRP when they know they sell like hotcakes, I know the idea is to bring more people in your store, but these cpu's are still sold out everywhere else, so people will come anyway. lot of people don't know about amd direct, they just always use the major retailers, i think that might be another reason the 5800x is still in stock.

5600X and 5800X are a lot closer to normal availability now, even up north here where all products are destined to be unobtainium even in normal times. It's really just the 5900X that's still rarer than hens' teeth.

Still horribly overpriced. Hopefully Intel will release Rocket Lakes at decent prices and availability which will hopefully make AMD lower their prices a bit.

There's no way I'm paying $560 (in my country) for 5800X when I bought 3700X for $330. That's a 70% price increase vs. at best a 19% performance increase (a lot less in MT mode).

And the non-X version of the 5800X is still nowhere to be seen which just sucks. It was announced like two months ago.
