Judging by your results I've hard time understanding "Great performance out of the box" as it's often losing to low and mid-end kits that can be bought as cheap as $120. Are we looking at different charts?

Also choosing a 3600X for AMD platform to test $900 kit makes very little sense.
If you are making these reviews with your personal hardware, then I can understand but still e.g. 5900X would be preferable.

Anyway this is memory kit is extremely disappointing. Latency way too high and performance is low since it's single rank memory.

I understand that it's a theme on TPU (and no offense to Yuri) but maybe it's time to move on from DRAM Calc? Thing hasn't been updated in ages and features only a fraction of commercially available DDR4 ICs (however old).

Sometimes I fell like these kits are like having a 1000 hp car but not being able to finish the track that represent everyday use faster than the cheap volkswagen since it for some reason have a lower topspeed. The only situation where the 1000 hp comes in handy is in braggingrights, other then that the volkswagen wins in price and performance. Can anyone produce an argument for ANYTHING other than the 3600 mhz CL16 Samsung B-die? You get almost no discount going to lower performing RAM (atleast not in Denmark), and you get no performance going up in price (not even double or triple)

This RAM needs a lot of tweaking, probably would blow the doors off once tweaked to run at 4000 MHZ with tight timings.

Overclocking headroom in this case is a matter of test platform (or user skills), not memory kit. I'm not sure how it could be added into the conclusion when the memory kit wasn't even tested at its rated speed. I also agree with Raven Rampkin, DRAM Calculator has problems with less popular memory IC and modules. I don't even want to mention that using DRAM Calculator in memory review doesn't look good. As a reviewer, you are supposed to be an expert, not rely on software designed to help clueless users.

Not surprising, towards the beginning of DDR4 "era" didn't we get DDR3 rated for speeds of 3000MHz or above? The vast majority of these kits are really useless for the avg joe, heck even for "enthusiasts"

DDR3 at 1.65v had no issues, if they are designed to work at that voltage there shouldn't be any issues.

I really think you need up upgrade your AMD test system to at the very least 5800X but preferable 5950X as it really don't show products in their best light and borderline means the AMD result is kind of pointless on a last generation lower midrange system.

I've seen 5333+ screens on OnePageBook's FB page on Z590 with Rocket Lake. The review platform is holding the RAM back.

Perhaps, but I would assume that DDR3 was probably 48nm node when it first came out, which is probably a lot more than current DDR4, which is probably 10nm range, another reason for higher DDR3 voltage.

I recall DDR3 starts from 1.5v, while DDR4 starts from 1.2V. You can't compare it this way. The transistors used in DDR4 are also smaller, so a higher voltage beyond a safe limit may fry it.

My whole rig only cost a few $$ moar than this kit (minus the case, which was $188 alone) but just sayin
