Hey guys building a new pc with a 5900x and a Corsair 360mm capellixe elite aio I wanted to put the asiahorse fans on there to match the rest of the fans in my case are these fans gonna be good enough ?

Those cheapo fans on Amazon... they're fine for case airflow duties, but I'm not sure swapping the fans designed for the rad with those just for looks is a great idea.

So they aren’t good for case cooling ? I was gonna get 10 ll120s for my case but they are crazy expensive I heard they were decent for rads just wanted to double check

imo..
you already paid a LOT of money for a CPU and a very high end AIO.

buy yourself a full Noctua or EK Fan Kit for your Case.

For case cooling they're fine I just wouldn't replace the fans that came on your aio with them.

Component selection should be firmed down before purchasing any component. The 2200 rpm corsair fans are going to be quite a noise source. What speed are the current case fans ?

The Corsair 100i Pro for example hits 53 dbA

Back in the early days of water cooling, we looked for high static pressure fans to overcome the high fin spacing (fpi) of radiators of the day. Nowadays pretty much all copper rads have low to medium fpi and typical standard pressure fans are best suited for both radiators and case cans, preferably 140mm

However, because of the aluminum rads in mist AIOs, the lower heat transfer coeeficient requires extreme speed fans be able to match air cooler termal performance... most 240mm AIO's don't and when they do, they are a lot louder. That Corsair 100i Pro needs to be 2.5 times as loud as the Fuma 2 air Cooler to beat it by 1C and its 3 times the price.

If noise is a component of the election process, you'd want to look at 140mm 1200 rpm fans and expect them to run no more than 825 rpm in stress testing... 625 rpm in gaming to have a noise free experience.

To determine how well the fans will perform, you need to find a reputable site that actually tested the fans in order to determine the best choice. And tht's rarely going to be the ones that a popular in web forums.

Here for example we see what happens when you take the reputable Noctua AF fans of a Noctua cooler. At the same rpm,m with the Phanteks PH-SP140, the CPU is 6.3 C cooler. Giving the Noctua AFs a 300 rpm speed advantage, the Phanteks still keeps the CPU 2.9C cooler.

Here they ranked the fans by Performance to Noise Ration and the results were, best 1st....

Phanteks PH-F140HP/TS
Noctua NF-A14 FLX
Noctua NF-A15 PWM
Noiseblocker B12-2
Noctua NF-P14 FLX
Scythe Gentle Typhoon 120-12

From what I saw on Amazon, there's 2000 words on the lEDs and not much about performance. The Asiaforce fans apparently run from 800 - 1500 rpm. Again, 1200 rpm is usually suitable for both case and rad fans these days. AIOs need more rpm to compensate for the aluminum rads. I see 2 issues for you, if, as per thread title, you want to run these on your AIO

1. AIOS generally need 2000-2200 to deliver their rated performance level, the ones I saw will not get you there.

2. With the high end rpm set by performance needs, the low end is set by the desire for reduces noise. These days, both PWM and DCV fans are capable of a turn down to 25% speed. These only get down to a 53% ... never seen that in today's products ... they should be able to go to 375 rpm.

3. How are you intending to control the fans on AIO and case ? ... given the limited turn down %, have to wonder if the AIOs control scheme is compatable with the limited asiahorse fans ... or your MoBos on board system control.

4. Description refers to 6 pin iterface ... sound proprietary .... expect some kind of adapter is involved... best confirm how this integrates into AIO / MoBo control
5. 5 fan package ... you have more than 5 fans ? Confirm how that integrates w/ AIP control and MoBo.

Yea so I have the 5000d the specs are vision 3080 5900x prime x570 pro 32gb ram 1200w psu

What fans would you recommend I could go for lls but if I wanted to get 10 they would be expensive and I’d need to get a controller and stuff like the commander pro which would cost even more

and for 10 fans I would need 2 way splitters it’s just a hassle

What’re you gonna do with ten fans?

So 3 asiahorse in front, 3 more on the side, one as exhaust and the corsair aio up top as exhaust.
As cheap as those fans are, test it both ways and let us know how it turns out. You never know you may end up liking the way the corsairs look with the asiahorse fans. If not youll have enough extra asiahorse fans to swap them out and sell the corsairs to recoup most of the cost.

Also this was the first article that came up

That sounds like a great idea thanks

Just FYI, it seems like the included asiahorse controller is kind of useless:

I’d spring for more Corsair fans personally but whatever works!

is it just me, or does asiahorse sound like a generic knockoff brand name?

like Magentbox ,Sorny , Palpasonic, or Samesung....

my 2 cents, just buy 3 or 4 Noctua fans, or some Scythe , or Phanteks, or similarly decent fan.
im not saying asian pony is a bad brand, but ive never heard of them

Well they are well known where I live I really want to go with Corsair fans but to get 10 they are crazy expansive and I’m going for my dream all white build so I need rgb

It is. There's like a dozen knock off brands on Amazon selling essentially the same fan with varying frames and rgb lighting. They're all not the best but then again you don't need the best for case airflow duties.

Ok so what do you guys think go with asiahorse for normal case intake and exhaust and use stock fans for the aio because from what I understand the Asia horse has a decent rpm so it should bring it plenty air

Yea use them cheapo fans for the case no prob. I would not spend top dollar for case fans, that's an area you can skimp on. Though keep in mind that a 5 pack of the asiahorse better be real cheap cuz you can get a 5 pack of the Antec Prizm 5v RGB (comes with decent controller too) for 60 on Amazon.

(It’s totally worth spending more on case fans — filters and metal are a huge impedance to airflow, never mind noise)

Filters? Like dust filters aslong as they spin fast and got blades it should be pushing air am I wrong

That's your opinion. It doesn't take much to push past case grills and filters. Don't act like that's a big deal when a real task is pushing thru a thick double folded radiator. Now there's a reason to spend for a fan, the static pressure.

Ok I’m saying though the Asia horse fans should be good for the case and they look nice and I can use the stock Corsair fans on the aio

You’re correct, it’s just that nicer fans will probably move more air with less noise and last longer.

Sorry no it’s not my opinion it’s a matter of fact.

Sure, budget is a concern here, so it makes sense to buy cheaper fans and use the nicer fans for the radiator, but don’t act like better fans aren’t going to perform better and bring in more cool air to make the radiator fans not have to work as hard, provide better GPU cooling, etc

That should be fine  I’d go for the Corsairs for all of the reasons I mentioned but hey if I had more money I wouldn’t be running a Lynnfield system

Edit: one thing to consider is that you probably don’t need ten fans. You could probably get away with just five — three intake and two to exhaust through the radiator. But I imagine you’re in it for the bling so do you :)

Thanks I’m looking to build my dream pc so yes it’s high specd and I want it to have bling and I figured since the asiahorse are decent and relatively cheap that I could fit 10 to make up for the extra air

Where are your facts? Nicer fans again, this whole nicer shit equals what exactly? More expensive fans don't always work better, are quieter or move more air. Martins covered this topic a decade ago. The specs on the backs of fans are utter bullshit and have no correlation to anything.
