Hi All,
My setup:
Samsung Oddessy G7 240hz 1ms Monitor
Ryzen 5 3600 w Aorus Master x570 mobo
2 x 16gb Ram Trident(32gb total)
MSI 2070 Super Graphics Card
Using Display Port connection
......................................................
I play COD Cold War
So I was using 1440p setting with no gsync enabled and raytracing disabled and was hitting approx 145fps in gaming.
Then I tried 1080p settings with no gsync enabled and raytracing disabled in lobby I was getting 190-205fps but when I get into a game it drops back down to approx 145fps.i think this gpu card can hit 205fps but wondering why the fps drops when in game.i only play that game online so cant compare to others so looking for anyone here that has some insight on getting more or consistent higher fps,my rig should be capable to do so. I have read whether its true is that its better to run 1080p to get higher fps then 1440p but I see no difference when in gaming.in a match both 1080 and 1440 are same at around 145fps,only in lobby waiting for a game there's a difference where the 1080p was hitting up to 205fps as oppose to 1440p setting in lobby is hitting up to 145fps.

whats about your storage? hdd, ssd, nvme?
With my i9-9900k sometimes the fps droping also down to 120 on cod:warzone (high textures).
So i dont think there would be enough tweaks to be sync with 240fps//240hz monitor, what you should actually be advised to by. Set it up to 144hz and try to keep mostly stable with fps on this .. (145,146 fps cap on 144hz)

btw. try out to pull ingame resolution down .. start with 90% and see whats the different for you

You're becoming more CPU bound at lower res, while at higher res you're GPU bound. Lobby is less intensive on CPU/GPU so that's why you see higher fps there.

Use rivatuner or something to show load while gaming. Compare CPU/GPU load at 1440p and 1080p.

I'd stick to 1440p anyway because you're already using a 32" display at 1440p and switching to 1080 would bring your pixel per inch levels even lower.

Oh yeah
I am using 1 samsung 970 evo plus 500gb nvme for just the Os and for the gaming am using samsung 970 evo plus 1tb solely for gaming only.

I'll give it a shot thanks.

Ok ill look into that.i am happy with gaming at 144fps.i was just wondering if I have a gpu thats capable of doing 205fps and thought more fps be better gaming response.

Lobby is not a gaming workload.

At 1080p you can become CPU bound by R5 3600 which is capable of reaching 4.2 GHz max:

Or you become GPU bound even before this and in real gameplay your GPU can only pull off 144fps.
