Sorry, I don't understand why you're comparing a computer screen and a phone screen, the two are not relatable. If that's how you buy screens, then you're never going to be happy.

As for Apple, they don't do scaling at all, you have to user a lower resolution. Friend of mine got two 4K screens and the only way to get systemwide "scaling" for him is to run them at 1440p, which looks blurry as...

As for watching content, you can simply do this...
Yes, YouTube isn't great, as you can't centre the video, but you can with VLC or something like that.

NO, even if 1080 on a 4k monitor is 3-4 times the size of a 6" 1080p phone, i still think it would be to small if i would use 1/4 of the monitor (1920x1080) to watch a 1080p youtube video or a twitch stream having to read the chat

It's not just about changing to a higher resolution, it's also to get a bigger sized monitor so text and objects don't look considerable smaller when going from a 27" 2560x1440 to a 27" 3840x2160 monitor

What is the point in getting higher resolution if the monitor is still 27" ?

Well, if you don't understand that point, then we can stop the discussion here.
Your logic and my logic when it comes to this topic are clearly too different to be able to have a productive discussion.

You'll need to use at least %125 scaling at 32" with 4k, especially if you have bad eyesight, you might even go further up the route towards custom scalings such as %135, and that breaks some stuff. Also, those monitors are all 60 Hz and awfully slow responding due to that, compared to a high refresh rate monitor. Stick with a nice 34" ultrawide, it doesn't require scaling and you can get a good panel of like 144 Hz easily with that kind of cash.

I have had a Dell U2515H 25" 2560x1440 so i think i will be fine (117dpi) 32" 4k is 137.68 dpi

Because of the resolution to screen in inches i don't want 27" next option is 40" and that is to big

You can go for a 38" UW, it would be 3840x1600 which I think might be the best of both worlds for that. The LG panels there are 75 Hz and low enough input lag, I had the UC98's 34 inch version. It was a pretty neat panel with the aggressive curve, especially for gaming.

Yeah, at that price that can't happen. Though there seems to be an Odyssey 34 from Samsung which seemingly came out a while ago. It's a 165 Hz.

34" 3440x1440 144hz is not a problem LG 34GL750, AOC CU34G2X, Acer Nitro XV340CKP (UM.CX0EE.P05) just to mention 3, are all within my budget

I'd probably go with the Nitro even though it's flat as it seems to be a quality panel that is IPS.

It's ok but a lower quality panel than the Nitro. In fact I'm eyeing an IIyama with the same panel found in the Nitro for myself right now.

rx 6700 xt is better than a rtx 2080 super, 4k isn't a problem since it's 60hz, 32" 144hz 4k costs more than twice my budget or more than a powercolor red devil rx 6700 xt

dirt 5 2560x144 144hz i get 144hz or more (it's smooth without freesync enabled at 60-80 fps), project cars 2 i get over 200fps with all on ultra, doom generally is easy games, need for speed hot persuit is limited to 60fps as well as the crew 2

You also forget that i can play demanding games on my 24" 1080 144hz monitor and the easy games a 32" 4k monitor (need for speeed hot persuite, the crew 2,dirt 3 older grid racing games + all facebook games like farmeville 2)

View attachment 198397

Personally I'd only get 6800 series and up for proper 4K/UHD gaming, and 3080 and up on the Nvidia side, altho DLSS can save all the lower tier RTX cards in supported games, works like magic especially for high res gaming. Around 75% fps gain, textures and text in general even looks sharper. DLSS is a lifesaver for 4K gaming. I use it all the time when I output to my OLED TV using 40-120Hz/Gsync.

400-500 dollar GPUs are not really meant for 4K gaming, but oh well, it can work if you accept 40-60 fps and lower quality settings I guess, or play older games. I don't see the point tho, I'd choose 1440p @ 144 fps/Hz any day over 2160p at 60fps/Hz.

I don't think so, a basic 32" 4k monitor is something like a Samsung U32J590UQU

Within my budget i can get something like a Benq EW3270U and the ue, MSI Optix MAG321CURV, Viewsonic VX3276-4K-MHD,LG 32UN650-W

I don't consider them as basic 32" 4k monitors

I've got the U32J590 and it's pretty good for what it is

Those Acer Nitro monitors might say IPS panel but the quality reminds more of a TN, go look up reviews

You get what you pay for, mostly

A good TN panel can easily be on par with bad IPS panel. A good IPS panel will always beat a good TN panel, in everything besides speed.

It's an ADS-IPS which is basically a PLS panel. If you check out the Rtings review, they said it was pretty good. It's way beyond anything TN.

Low contrast ratio (for an IPS panel, almost TN level) and bad uniformity, on most of the Nitro monitors, seen a few by now.

Generally don't trust monitor or TV reviews unless it's a retail sample they are reviewing ... Most that are sent to them by the manufacturer, are cherrypicked hard. This is especially true for LCD monitors and TVs which varies alot (backlight bleed, corner glow, smearing, halo effect and so on). OLED on the other hand, has very little panel variance.

I run my 28" 4K60 monitor at a 200% scaling. This gives me a 1080p sized desktop with 4x the resolution on text and icons and looks absolutely beautiful. Pictures are rendered at higher res too where they have the detail too, of course. My eyesight isn't too perfect, either. Oh and no screendoor effect, either.

Comes down to:
- BenQ EW3280U - flat IPS, 40-60 Hz freesync range, can be expensive, near €700
- Philips 328E1CA - curved VA, 48-60 Hz freesync range, around €400

There are also IPS-based LG models however those use inferior quality panels that have multiple reports from users saying that there are some problems with brightness or image quality after few months of use.

IMHO your budget is too small for this. You need good performance to have stable framerate at 4K, having display with narrow freesync range will either cause tearing or will force you to enable vsync.

I'd say get a 1440p display (say BenQ EX2780Q), this budget will allow for some flexibility there and it will better match performance of your 6700XT. Multitasking etc will still be possible, your gaming experience will be better at higher framerates than at 40-60fps max in 4K. Just saw that you already have 2 displays.

This is especially true for LCD monitors and TV which varies alot (backlight bleed, corner glow, smearing, halo effect and so on)
RTings buy all the samples they review.

I couldn't get a rx 6800 xt the only card i was lucky to get was the top of the line red devil rx 6700 xt from power color

Had been using gtx 1070-1080 power full cards (gtx 1070-1080,rtx 2060 and rx 5600xt) for a few years i took the chance getting a 6700 xt, lucky to get one in the low 60's when gaming,no noise and no coilwhine, performance is just above rtx 2080 super and under 2080 ti or around 3060 ti

Yes i hve 2 monitors my specs are updated.

I like watching tv, tidal, youtube, movies and twitch in full screen on my 24" 1080 144hz, i also wrote somewhere i could if i want to play demanding games, play it on my 25" monitor, games like need for speed hot persuite (bought very cheap and soo much fun, pure speed, nothing else) and the crew 2 is limited to 60fps so i have a little experience with low fps games, when i had a gtx 1660 super i could only get 60-70 mabye 80 fps in dirt 5 medium settings and it was smooth

Going to get one as well sooner or later as 28" for 4K is probably kinda meh. IIRC 1080 Ti supports FreeSync?
