I got me a job finally so i plan on upgrading a few things. sadly i have not chose the gpu yet. (so sue me)

I want a new monitor. I want a 22", but i could go 20", as anything will be better than the 17" i have. but anyway i don't know what to get.

I've looked at dell, veiwsonic, asus, SCEPTRE, samsung, ect. i just don't know!

so, 20" - 22" dvi (hdcp capable)
and the rest, idk.

so whats your opinions?

i would say just look at the 22" size. you pay almost the same price for the 19" & 20" and your only talking $25-$35 difference from 20" to the 22" lcds for most models. its only when you get to the 24" size it jumps $100

I work at bby now so i would probably use my discount and get it, if it's not more than newegg.

your only talking $30-$40 difference from 20-22" lcds for most models so i would say just look at the 22" size. you pay almost the same price for the 19", 20" or 22" lcds and its only when you get to the 24" size it jumps $100

i love everything samsung makes but right now they are price gouging for lcds. they just are priced too high and for that reason i dont choose them.

they know they have the reputation of their good quality and they are selling a basic monitor with the same features or even less features as everyone else has for higher price than anything it could be compared to.

all things being equal (or even just kinda close) i would pick the samsung.

but my momma didnt raise no fool and im not overpaying for anything just because of the name on the box!

Samsung isnt expensive....They sell their monitors at prices almost identical to brands like Spectre but with much higher quality and specs. 310$ for a 22' Last Gen LCD monitor is far from expensive.

So ? 50$-100$ more than Viewsonic, LG and Spectre is what you consider a high price ?
Check the specs, check them up close and then you will see that 50-100$ more is worth it.

look very carefully then ask why you need to pay more for nothing!

i've been monitor shopping for a month now looking for a good deal so i got specs coming out the wazzoo and it aint that your getting anything extra for that money.

no arguments here, but when something is priced higher than the competition i want to get something if i pay extra thats all.

man i love samsung, hell im looking at a samsung 710n right now on my desk but they have IMHO got lazy and are relying on name brand and not features to sell their monitors lately.

to be quite honest the reason i havent bought one yet is i'm hoping samsung drops its prices in line with the competition. by that i mean their specs and price match the specs and price of competiters much more evenly.

The Samsung 226BW is definitely one of the best 22" monitors on the market

Make sure to get an "S" panel though..

You get what you pay for...Simple as that.....Even EIZO with their expensive monitors have a reason to sell them in such prices ( Superior Quality Made In Japan, Superior Color Reproduction, Perfect Guarantee ) and thats why their monitors are used by companies that either work on Autocad, Photoshop, Maya , 3DStudioMax.
