All High PC seems to handle it fine.

Here's another farcry6 thread:

That is about requirements is it not? I ideally want this to be for those who have the game, for discussion, problems, screenies etc.

One thing I found - By setting your Uplay Connect status to 'Invisible', the game won't connect to any of the online perks/items/bonuses. It just gives a random error message about not being online. Had to Google that one.

I have the game, but I have not yet used much time on it, because of to little time for it right now. However what I have played so far, makes me feel I want to play more. So thats positive so far.

A little tip: under the first launches of the game on pc. It took forever to load to full screen and then finnally it dit. Just a black screen and no more happens. The cause of this was MSI afterburner running in the background with overlay on monitor active. So if you have crashes and slow load. Try kill msi afterburner. Far cry 6 dosent like it, it seems. After I dit, It loaded and ran fine and stable for the 2 hours or so I managed to play before bedtime.

Can also say gtx 1660 super seems to handle the game fine a 1080P high preset. Depending on what fps are your target off cause. But since I have a 1440P 144 Hz monitor. It's just not optimal for me. But given the current situation we are in. That's what I have to settle with. But disappointed as my goal was rtx 3080/3080 ti

Ah thanks for that tip. I have exactly the problem that it doesn't show items i got from uplay connect. Will try and see what my status is set to next time I load the game.

I have Afterburner installed and running as i have my GPU oc'd. didn't have a problem really.

I did discover the warm up PSO cache thing. Far Cry 6 loads the whole map into memory? so there are no loads between areas. Mine is on a HDD but it might load faster on a SSD.

As I said. I have overlay active. Meaning so I can see gpu load and temperature, cpu temp and load, how memory I use and so on, shows uo on my monitor. FC6 dosent seems to like that.

Before I killed msi, it took a long time here as well to load pso cashe before going to full black screen and no more happened.

After msi was terminated entirely. The game loaded pso cashe pretty fast from my Samsung 980 pro ssd and worked fine.

The overlay function at least seems to make FC6 fail. At leest on my pc.

I don't have the overlay active, i might try it and see if it does crash.

EDIT just tried it with the overlay on, just had GPU temp, and FPS but it ran fine, no crashes or black screen

Alright. I have a lot of overlay active. Maybe that's why I crash at me. Will try to lower the amount of overlay next time I go for a play

Nice below 40C.

My crappy mini itx size single fan gtx 1660 super from Palit is a noisy fucker running 70C with fan screaming at over 2000 rpm. I hate that card hornestly.

But in the current gpu apocalypse. It's what I could get:cry:

I only have a 980ti, it is water cooled though, and OC'd to 1500 core/1940 ram. I really need a better card, my monitor is only 1080, it is a 32" though and 165hz which my card hasn't got a hope of reaching.

Then let me tell you this.

Until August 2020 I had a gtx 1080 TI. But I sold it in August last year with the expectation that it's value would drop significant with ampere launch in September. But we all know now that's not what happened.

So my expectations were rtx 3080/3080 TI, reality was gtx 1660 super. A card slower than gtx 1080 TI and only half of the vram. Talk about a major disappointment. There are RTX 3080 ti in stock in my country, but the prices are yeah not for my wallet and rtx 3080 are always sold out.

So while I just got a new 1440P 144 Hz monitor this year, it's still 1080P gaming for me

Is it true in the US, you can't use your uplay points to get a 20% discount off games (within 3 months of release).

Not sure of the time frame, but yes, using the 100 points for the discount doesn't apply to pre-orders or new releases.

I liked FarCry 2 and 3, and Blood Dragon was AMAZING! But after that i havnt been enjoying any other entry since, but with 6 i find they made noticeable improvements to the gunplay and sound design, it almost feels like the new Wolfenstine games which are a top tier FPS gun play, that made me enjoy the game very much.

I take my statement about Far Cry 6 and MSI afterburner with overlay. It does work. I just simply had to much running at the same time and the game dit not like that. Now with less overlay, i works,

I heard a comment saying that this feels uncannily like Farcry 3, like it basically is, with a different plot, characters and a 'coat of paint'

How true is that to you peeps playing it atm? I have the Farcry itch, but I might just fire up FC3 again at this rate.

I like it a bit more than 3... the guns feel like guns -- the sound and feel of them is the best so far, the villain is great- map is huge voice acting is really good.

It's a close call between this and 5 -- I haven't finished this yet, but this one really does feel more open world in the flow and I think they nailed the cultural vibe.

The only thing I don't love is the animals bullet soaking armor piercing rounds, and the ammo system in general sucks. -- They really need to cut that out and stick to semi realistic weapon effects; or at least have some plot device as to WHY a guard dog just survived 4 7.62mm FMJ rounds to the face (he's on drugs, mutant whatever)

Cheers I appreciate the time taken to elaborate. I think I might wait for a few patches and a sale and jump on 6 then :)

Basically a dog should bee down with 1 round, but i get why they don't. One thing i did notice is the fights are tougher, maybe i have the game set too hard  i'll manage, it's kinda fun like this.

How long you got on the game @weekendgeek ? You seem to have lots of currency, i have feck all really.

I finished FC3, I get that this does look like 3. I think this is more like 5 with the map size and stuff though. I am enjoying it though, bet there is a lot of hours in this. I have 72 hours on FC3 and finished it, so i am hoping there is more to this
