Would a Ryzen 1600 (AF) be a worthy upgrade from a 3200g

My Local tech shop has one of these going for a mere 200 aud
and on paper it seems quite a bit better with 2 more pysical cores + hyperthreading
On a side note would this chip OFICALLY support windows 11?
would my a320m-h be able to run this fine?

Depends on what you are going to use it for.... For gaming with a 1060 probably not but if you are doing some kind of cpu heavy workload that need the 2 additional cores maybe..... Your motherboard should handle it fine stock.

edit... Forgot the 3200G was a 4 thread cpu I would probably do it 1% low performance should be decently better even if average performance is the same for gaming and if you use your cpu for other stuff even better.

It would obviously run on your motherboard (1600 AF is YD1600BBM6IAF), but actually your mobo has just recently received an update for Ryzen 5000, you might want to consider that upgrade path as well, overall I think it would be a better upgrade if you don't plan to throw out the whole system in 2-3 years.

GTA V
and Watch dogs 2

if the 3200G runs it the 1600AF will they are both zen+. That is more down to your MOBO most likely.

Make sure you have the latest firmware for your motherboard - some A320 boards (asrock) added some overclocking "bonus" features in later firmwares - which is really nice!
If you can't overclock... 1600AF at stock speeds is stuck at 3.2Ghz. 3.4 max "boost" which is pretty lame. It's basically a downclocked 2600 (down from like 3.4 base / 3.7Ghz ) which... kinda sucks.

It will officially run win11... but your 3200G would also do that too.

Again, try and find out if your a320 board supports some overclock options, because that's really what the 1600AF was about, otherwise you'll have to find someone who benched those at stock.

Yes, that board will run that CPU perfectly. Make sure the BIOS is up to date. As for it being worth the upgrade, in my opinion, yes. The extra performance will be of benefit in many programs, as long as the price is reasonable which for 200AuD is a fair price as long as it's new and unopened.

Should be similar gains vs the 7600k which is faster than your 3200G like I said averages likely won't be a ton different but 1% lows will make your games smoother.

correct and in games like that the 1600AF will help for sure. Just make sure it is the AF variant

Isaac` is currently running an unsupported CPU, so this upgrade will not change anything.
