Yes it did. With Gecube's HD2900pro official hopefully the 2950pro will be 512 bit also.

man this is all soo confuzzling, 2900 pro listed in sites and about to be released along with the 2950 pro? now what kind of marketing is that, "lets release a card along side the next series so we can stifle our sales by competing with ourselves" lol

I guess we'll have to wait and see what really happens but these rumor mills on the pros are killer.

The power connector makes it seem like a fake to me. They moved away from that particular placement, because of people complaining about interference with the hard drives in tight cases.

There not being released together. From everything I've seen 2950pro is for either late november or Q1 08. Now the 2900gt might come out same time as 2900pro, but no sites have it listed.

Here is a pic from vr-zone.com that say its scheduled for Q1 08.

I just considered that maybe they put lesser quality ram on it. I'll patiently wait to see some results.

I will want to see some real benchmarks on this RV670. From my understanding there was suppose to be a R680 so none of this makes sense right now. However, I don't see the R600 lasting much longer in the product life cycle. But that remains to be seen. Also that chart you posted from VR Zone doesn't make sense. 2nd half of 2008 they plan to introduce the R700.

Well lets put it this way. The RV670 will be a mid range part or a high end part replacing the R600. Then the R700 next year. :)

There is no:
R650
R670
R680

At least until we actually see it for SALE!

Wait...what? Are you saying AMD plans do introduce R700 or implying the chart is saying that? I haven't ever heard anything about the R700 being introduced in 07. Also the chart is a bit old so I wouldn't be surprised if things have changed since it was made.

Was going to post this in the news thread, but..

So here goes, made a size comparison with my card, the x1900xt that is 21cm in lenght. This baby is longer! Judging from the compined picture I'd say it's 21.5cm, so not bad, but I'd rather have it a bit shorten than this :)

This might make more sense to it. Future is 6 months for a new high end ("whii" for cards not holding value at all after purache and whii for better prices for "last years" high end :p)

Its the voltage filtering, digital PWM, not capacitors and heaps of choke coils. Remember that ATI uses a ring bus...thus it would be as long as a 8800GTX if it didnt use this sort of voltage filtering....

Those chips would eventually burn up if you do not put any form of cooling on them...

I am looking forward to all of AMD's new hardware, I have complained and grumbled but looking at the potential (on paper and word of mouth) of the 2950 pro and 2950 XT models is really exciting. Its not about who is better with me, but if AMD's continues with excellent pricing/ performance....we'll we have a winning setup on the way.
My next system will have 2 of the 2950 ??'s. Unfortunately what I have read I will have to wait until Q1/ Q2 of 2008 for everything I want to use. But things are looking brighter for AMD. :toast:

i wonder is this AMD "Dark Side" that was posted earlier this week? There is a R700 coming in 2008. Also what is the white power on the PCB of the card? Still a beefy card tho.
