Yeah this game doesn't look that good to have such low framerates.

I expect there will be plenty of patches incoming.

Anything below a 2060 is unplayable at 1080p is kinda crazy.

Game is very demanding, but personally, I loved the way it looks outdoors while playing it. My favorite open world so far outside the lack of BIOME variety which was a bit sad. No pop-in at all. I loved the open world gameplay, collecting soldiers, using the Razorback to bring 5 soldiers with me to attack a stronghold. It had all the AI and gameplay I wanted in Mass Effect or Farcry, but they did not have it. I just want an ability to call my soldiers at a FOB to my vehicle, one button, instead of having to walk around collecting them.

What I did not like, was the final mission. Great final boss fight, but the MID BOSS was not good, and it was full of bland ugly indoors, room after room, hallway after hallway of repetition fighting the same guys over and over. I think the game is amazing, a solid 9/10 for the open world aspects and everything before the final mission. Final mission is bloated and by itself is a 5/10 from me. Way too long. Took me 3 days to beat just the last part starting from the Spire. 5 hours for one mission (that is divided in several continuous parts, in all of them, you cannot waypoint even once during all those sections).

This was totally opposite my expectations. Turns out the open world stuff is 9/10 from me, and the early indoor missions are 8 or 9/10 too. But the main linear section of the game is not great. When you are outdoors, you get to use different vehicles, soldiers, different weapons, different approaches. Better than the indoor stuff.

In the final mission, when indoors you are trapped in a small room with 2 hunters and it is cramped and unfun.

Main bug to fix: my special "yellow striped" weapons disappear from the ground when unequipped. They should add weapon lockers that let you use your special weapons in the final mission. As it was, I had to painfully protect my pistol all the way through, but I accidentally used the grapple to change weapons equip and BAM my pistol is gone for good for the next few hours. You cannot get those special weapons from enemy drops. You don't have save file control, so that's it, your weapon is gone.

I expect there will be plenty of patches incoming.

Yeah it is kind of crazy. Needless to say don't even bother with a GTX 1060, but a 1070 will be "playable" at 60 fps, but not nearly as pretty. RTX 2060 really is the minimum for a console like experience (One X or Series S like experience). Game is very polished and looks good though. This game had less bugs than any other AAA I've played in years on launch.

I test the campaign yesterday and was amazed how the game run poorly. I don't even understand how it can be like that when the majority don't have xbox series or 6xxx and 3xxxx graphics cards.

Everything is set to high and ultra, that is why you have that low performance on 1060 and others low tier gpus. Weird to say low tier for 1060 :D.

For people that are scared that won't run on older hardware let me tell you this the upscaling is the shit.
Have the game on high at 4k and set to 60 min and max and it runs super smooth and I know that it runs or resolution much lower than 4k the upscaling does what its supposed to do and the game looks great and runs great.

I'm getting fps between 48 to 51 at training zone when I get off ship ( Steam version )

Game setting : everything to Low.
Driver : AMD: 21.12.1 Beta
Win10 Pro Build 19043.1415
AMD overlay reports :
CPU Util : 29% , GPU Util : 100% , GPU temp : 59c , GPU PWR : 71w , VRAM Util :3910MB , Full Speed

Why isn't GPU hot? I remembered I played The Medium and even at low setting , GPU was hot and low fps.

No, you can't run at 60fps even with low settings and a GTX 1060.

This game does have amazing upscaling quality. Doesn't seem like standard TAA. It reminds me of Quantum Break but better. Very heavy on the GPU but looks quite good at lower resolutions.

Looks like Nvidia need to try and optimise for ReBAR better here as SAM really allows RDNA2 to pull away, but having said that, performance across the board is borderline abysmal for the visuals on offer.

343i really need to work on PC optimisation, as does Nvidia it would appear. Throwing in DLSS given the game uses TAA would very much be a welcome addition too.

@W1zzard , May I enquire about the custom scene you've used? HUB showed some interesting results which showed RNDA2 cards shooting far ahead in scenes with little occurring, but even with SAM on (helping their framerates but doing zilch for Ampere), they were virtually at parity with Ampere in a scene with lots of enemies and action. I know usually you pick a scene based more around a typical gameplay scenario.

It is clear devs are giving a middle finger to people with low-end hardware.
Can someone explain why the diff between FullHD texture size and 4k is soo small?

You pretty much described most AAA games released this year.
There is ONE AAA game on PC this year with impressively good performance. Final Fantasy 7 Remake :) 120fps is here :)

The game looks cool to be fair. Besides, there will be patches to improve gameplay and I'm sure some tweaking is needed for better performance despite a graphics card people are using. Things will improve with time.

It's a typical open world scene, near one of the enemy bases, with a few enemies showing up towards the end of the run.
I'm at least halfway through the game and haven't really encountered "hordes" of enemies, so testing such a scenario would be cherry picking a worst-case.

but personally, I loved the way it looks outdoors while playing it
Indeed, I do like the art style, too, even though technically and objectively it's not as good visually as other 2021 titles.

Unfortunately most people according to steam hardware survey don't have the gpu power to play this game with max details at 1080p.
Oh well, life goes on and PC gaming chapter closes for some of us, i'm not insane to pay 1000-1500 euro for a midrange card.

37,7FPS with a 1080Ti @1440p !??
I guess overclocked it would be 40FPS.
Playing a FPS with 40FPS, let me think... NOPE !
