Hello, Im looking to buy a gpu to pair with my ryzen 9 5900x, I want to stream on twitch maintaining very good fps (1080p gamer who mainly plays low settings for good performance) wondering what gpu I could buy now that would "future proof me" for the next 3 years atleast. I maintain good fps on valorant, but struggle on games like rust. I also was told not to buy a amd card if Im going to be streaming due to its encoder?, Thanks.

For 1080p ultra high settings a 3060 12gb would be my recommendation because it has the extra vram, card prices are coming down so its a better time to buy now. If you want 4k start with 3060ti. Also for nvidia 3k series cards you can enable resizable bar and get better performance.

The card for you would be a 6700XT. If not a 6600Xt. The fact that you have a 5900X will work seamlessly with AMD software. Using the AMD software should allow you to stream to Twitch at those settings.

Nvidia runs fine with amd cpu's but amd bought ati and have been making their own gpu's so performance is comparable to nvidia, the 6700xt is also a 12gb card too so if you wanted to consider look at these 2 side by side. 6700xt costs a good deal more than a 3060

The thing im worried about is the encoder for streaming, I was told I lose alot of performance when streaming with amd compared to NVENC.

i'd say a 3060 Ti for a decent price

I'm not a streamer so I don't know but I think both amd and nvidia are equipped with streaming software and if not you can always use a game capture device which is just a hdmi passthrough box so you can record and lose no performance, the 5900x should be able to run any streaming sw you want along with your game with minimal impact.

i'd say a 3060 Ti for a decent price

Ok here's a youtube side by side, it's 1440p ultra so the 6700xt stands out but the 3060 is still fine for 1080p.

Found a 1080p one, on ultra 3060 gets 60fps but I agree the 3060ti is a better choice because you can use aa.

Won't cause a conflict. I have AMD/Nvidia and Intel/AMD rigs.

I know they are interchangeable. I am looking at the fact that you could use AMD software to Stream, OC, Undervolt, Overlay, Enable SMA and not have to use a 2nd program. Nvidia is good but does not have that functionality.

Like I can stream on twitch with that?. I know I can stream with the amd card just heard it loses alot of performance while streaming due to the encoder. compared to nvidias encoder nvenc.

right now looking into 6800xt, 3070 ti, 3080 ti. only thing stopping me from 6800xt is encoder for live streaming

You mentioned that you run low settings at FHD, why not just use the 5900X? It'll have no issues pulling that off.

I have a high refresh rate monitor, I want to stay above 240 fps consistently while streaming. just dont know what card to get for it.

Why? It's not like you're streaming at 240 FPS, nor do you'll be able to actually tell differences beyond some 200 FPS when you're focused to a game. You're using low settings, dedicate the 5900X to streaming, and use your 5600 XT. Put a fine OC on the components and do some actual tweaks before purchasing an overpriced GPU for no actual reason.

would like better fps in games like rust and other fps. 5600xt is probably bottlenecking me.

Just dedicate the 5900X to streaming, you're already probably running super low settings even if it's Rust. Make sure it's working properly in terms of boosts and temperatures (like actually go check it). The 5600 XT shouldn't have a problem running dirt low settings. It can also benefit from a decent overclock. Grab Afterburner and go from there. 240 FPS is not a necessity nor something you'll benefit at large from. That's why variable refresh rate exists.

rust is very poorly optimized overall, even with a 3090 ti and good cpu Ive seen it not even go above 160 fps. but in general I compete at a high level in games like valorant, (close to radiant right now) so staying above 240hz would be very nice for me while streaming.

Staying above 240 gives you absolutely nothing, even if you compete at these so called "high level" games you're still not going to see actual gains from let's say 240 FPS over 200. The frametime differences are way lower when you go at very high refresh rates such as 200+, there's a little actual math behind this. So I suggest you do some research.

Go look up on how frametimes work. Also the older 240 Hz monitors were kinda trash, the newer Fast IPS material is better but with the old panels, it was a shoot with bad colors and other tidbits.
