Anyone use comcast? speed issue

I upgraded to a new comcast modern box XB8, i have 1200mpbs download, well i switch to the XB8 model and I'm still getting 944 download , anyone know what the problem may be, because i don't think comcast know what the fuck they're doing. They said give it an hour or so and your speed should be well over 900, please. The uploaded went up from 21 to 44, the download speed shouldn't take that damn long to change.

Using windows 10, latest network drivers. I'm doing multiple speed tests and the last one barely went up to 500mpbs. this stuff is very annoying. You expect to pay money you expect to get results.

I know this is an obvious question, but is part of your network (between your modem/router and your computer ) gigabit-only? ~940Mbps is what I would expect if the network was gigabit.

Unless both the modem and your PC has 2.5Gbps ethernet you will be capped at 1Gbps. According to the Comcast website the XB8 only has Gigabit ports.

Yeah sounds like a gigabit NIC issue. Note the XB7 at least does have a 2.5Gbps port on it, it's marked with red. I have one (the CGM4331COM model).

Based on this doc, you should have a 2.5gbps port as well:

It isn't really. Except the upload goes from 10mbps to 40. That part is nice (relatively).

Well when we are forced to pay extra money to get a new plan, because the old plan ran out, yea i want to see what we are paying for. So yes i want my 1200mpbs whatever i can see it or not haha.

I'm not sure how they can do that with Gigabit ethernet ports without some sort of link aggregation.
Unless they are counting wifi speeds as being that fast to be able to advertise that. (Wifi 6/6E)

Well looking around, I'm just going to buy a 2.5 Gbps pcie network card from walmart or ebay today. And silly me, i notice in my network settings, yea it clearly says 1.0gbps.
