They keep prompting me to "upgrade" to Win 11 and now they make it a pain in the ass to refuse to upgrade to some silliness for Win 10 which I paid for. How to make it stop?

Benchmark Scores (My Windows daily driver is a Beelink Mini S12. I'm not interested in benchmarking.)
I have multiple systems running Windows 10 and I just dismissed the dialog asking me if I wanted to upgrade. Not a big deal.

I am still on Windows 10 on my daily driver desktop PC as well as my sole notebook PC. I also downgraded another machine from Windows 11 back to Windows 10 and I am not seeing any notifications to re-upgrade.

If you disable TPM (in the UEFI BIOS) Windows should tell you your machine is ineligible for Windows 11 and that will be the end of it.

You could post a screenshot of the offending window but I doubt that will provide much insight since tens of millions of Windows 10 PCs probably display the same thing.

I get similar offers to upgrade my Mac to the latest version of macOS when it releases and I simply ignore it. Again, millions of Macs display the same thing.

Being Windows, my guess is that there's some weird registry hack that will disable the notification. It's up to you do decide whether or not you want to pursue something like that. A judicious Internet search (yeah, one of those weird behaviors old timers used to do 10-15 years ago) will provide guidance.

There's also a program called Windows 10 Upgrade Assistant that Microsoft will try to install at some point. If you uninstall that you should get fewer notifications.

Best of luck.

It never bothers me( not even once ), only thing that comes to mind right now is that TPM is disabled on this system there for it don't qualify for win11 ?.

Just a thought.

As has been suggested, all it takes is disabling TPM in the BIOS. Windows won't nag you to upgrade again.

Weird, your i7 7700K isn't even supported!
My i5 is not supported either and I don't get those upgrade notices.

However, it does look your motherboard supports W11. So maybe that has something to do with it. IDK.

I noticed too that after disabling the security thingy I no longer qualified for win 11 on the windows update screen. My plan is to wait until windows 10 is eol before I consider upgrading.

there is a prompt to update, and in that prompt you can choose not to be asked again, that's what i did and the nagging stopped. I'm still eligible and can do it if i choose too. You must have choose the same.
I'm on PRO version, so i don't know if that makes any difference.

I have no intentions of using W11, i'm going straight to 12 as i dislike a lot of the changes and there is absolutely zero features i miss by not upgrading.

Win 10 Pro on work laptop and home PC. TPM enabled on laptop, disabled on desktop. Neither get notifications anymore. I believe there was an option to never ask again.

What bugs me the most is the random "Hey, we need to finish your installation" which is just a way for them to shove you OneDrive and Office subscriptions.

But still on Win10 atm. Life just too busy to start over.

but it went nowhere.
That's not really true. It made a HUGE impact on MS - and the world, actually. It is important to remember that the EU was also threatening Microsoft big time, at the same time.

While you are correct that no actual action against Microsoft took place, Congress made it very clear that if Microsoft did not change their ways, Microsoft would be forcibly split up into tiny, independent companies - Ma Bell style. That would have devasted Microsoft and Microsoft saw the light!

So what happened? Microsoft changed Windows to allow the use 3rd party applications, including 3rd party browsers like Netscape. In the EU, Microsoft was even forced to sell a version of Windows that came without IE (or any browser).

There were other anti-monopolistic changes MS made too - though admittedly, some seemed to take an excessively long time to get implemented.

Not all Congressional demands and changes ended up being good for us consumers, however.

Microsoft intended to include anti-virus code in XP, but Norton, McAfee, and the others whined and cried to Congress and the EU claiming Microsoft was trying to rule and monopolize the world. They were, but not the point.

The anti-malware industry claimed it was their job to thwart malware. So, with Congress and the EU threatening to breakup Microsoft Ma Bell style, MS left it out.

So what happened? Broadband to the home exploded and the bad guys moved in, exploited us users and proliferated beyond anyone's expectations - except Microsoft's! Norton, McAfee and the others failed miserably to stop them! :( Remember, Norton, McAfee, Kaspersky, BitDefender, Avira, and the others had (and still have) no financial incentive to defeat the bad guys. If they succeeded, they would go out of business.

But who got blamed for their failure and the security mess the badguy put us in? Microsoft - even though it was the badguys who perpetrated the offenses and the anti-malware industry who failed to stop, or even hinder their proliferation.

Notice how now Congress, the EU and Norton have kept their mouths shut about Microsoft integrating Defender in W8 and W10/W11? It is because they know they were wrong. Had MS been allowed to include anti-virus code in XP, it could have at least hindered the untethered unrestricted advances of the bad guys.

Even most of the biased IT media and MS bashers have, for the most part, kept quiet about MS including anti-malware code in Windows. I say, "for the most part" because Microsoft haters will always find (or even make up) something to bash MS for.

My issues are small but there is alot of small issues, and those issues slow down my work progress.
I don't doubt you. Be we must remember that essentially each and every Windows computer becomes a unique computer just minutes after it is first booted - with nearly countless HW configurations, network and security setups, installed apps and Windows personalizations. And of course, not all hardware was made to support W11. It may be older and made for W10 (or even Vista or XP!). Sadly, not all hardware makers and 3rd party software developers made a concerted effort to update their drivers and software to optimize support for W11. Why? There's no profit in that - they would rather we buy all new.

But - I agree Microsoft could and should do better. IMO, they need to concentrate more on fixing bugs and optimizing existing features before coming out with new features. This is where the marketing weenies and execs need to keep their greedy fingers out of the development department so the developers can do their jobs unhindered. And we also have to remember with over 30 million lines of code, much often evolving, there will always be some bugs. :( Even the developers are only human.

That said, I stand by what I said and note that "most" users, who give the new software versions (any software) a chance to get used to it, will soon see it as intuitive and become happy (or at least not unhappy) with it. If you get used to Firefox, Chrome seems clunky. If you get used to Chrome, Firefox seems clunky. Same with our security software, word processors, PDF viewers - you name it.

Humans don't like change. We like the status quo. We like what we are used to.

I don't either. I have been one of their harshest critics - when due!

The difference is, unlike some, sadly, is with huge corporations, I know the difference between the executive and marketing departments, and the development teams. I know this because I used to work for a HUGE corporation that did software development too - in my one division, I was one of 10 hardware techs among 400+ developers.

Unlike many, I know how compartmentalized huge corporations can be - where one hand really doesn't know what the other is doing. Or worse, where one hand controls the purse strings of the other without having a clue for what they are doing or what they need while a third clueless hand is steering, guided only by $$$ signs and immediate returns for their investors. :(

Some of the executive decisions at Microsoft have been downright evil, if not criminal, IMO. And I have told them so - especially when I was a MS MVP. And some of the marketing scams... err... campaigns instituted and/or conducted by the marketing weenies have been totally anti-consumer. :( And I have been very vocal about that too. Notice I am no longer a MVP.

But on the development side of the house, that is a totally different breed of people - a truly dedicated bunch of true expert professionals who really do want their products to excel while keeping us safe. And they do a great job of that too.

So while I am one of their harshest critics, I will defend them with equal vigor when biased MS haters unjustly blame MS for actions and events they did not cause. And if you bothered to go back through some of my threads, you will see I have not minced words there either. For example, search for me and the words, marketing weenies. Yet some folks, apparently like yourself @64K, only see when I defend MS, then pounce on the MS haters bandwagon to make some underhanded, misinformed comment about it. :(

Have a nice day.
