Hi, I'm in process of shopping for a new gaming PC across famous PC configurators. What do you guys think to the following list?

CASE: CORSAIR ICUE 7000X RGB SERIES ATX Full-Tower Gaming Chassis + 4x CORSAIR SP140 RGB ELITE fans
CPU: Intel® Core™ Processor i9-13900KS 8P/16 + 16E 3.00GHz [Turbo 6.0GHz] 36MB Cache LGA1700 [Special Edition]
COOLER: CORSAIR iCUE H170i ELITE 420mm with LCD Display Liquid CPU Cooler System & Copper Cold Plate
SSD: 1TB SAMSUNG 980 PRO (PCIe Gen4) NVMe M.2 SSD - Seq R/W: Up to 7000/5000 MB/s, Rnd R/W up to 1000/1000k (Single Drive)
MEMORY: 64GB (16GBx4) DDR5/5600MHz Dual Channel Memory [+60] (CORSAIR DOMINATOR PLATINUM RGB)
MOTHERBOARD: ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO DDR5 ATX w/ Wi-Fi 6E, 2.5GbT LAN, (2)PCIe x16,(1)PCIe x4, (5)M.2, (6)SATA
OS: Windows 11 Home
POWERSUPPLY: 1200 Watts - Thermaltake Toughpower Grand RGB 1200W 80 PLUS Platinum w/ Ultra Quiet Smart Zero Fan Power Supply
MOINITOR: LG UltraGear QHD 27-Inch Gaming Monitor 27GL850-B, Nano IPS 1ms (GtG) with HDR 10 Compatibility and NVIDIA G-SYNC, 144Hz,

** I plan to add more NVMe SSDs at a later point.

Specific questions:
  • I know many won't advice for overclocking the 13th Gen 13900KS, however, if I'm an overclocking freak and I plan to do it, will the ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO be good for it?
  • Is the power supply valid for this setup?
  • I originally planned to have this built in COOLER MASTER HAF 700 EVO case instead of the CORSAIR ICUE 7000X RGB, but heard that the COOLERMASTER RGB software is not all that, and I also wanted to keep everything unified for RGB software, case , cooler , RAM. Is the CORSAIR ICUE 7000X a good choice for this build?
  • With the H170i ELITE with LCD, the fans max RPM is 1600. Where as the non LCD version fans go up to 2000RPM. Is this a big factor to consider for cooling?
---------------

So, let me be honest! I came here for advice, specifically on DDR5 and RAM in general since I lack a lot of knowledge the RAM area! Answers started great and very informational and I do thank the some of you who added a lot to my knowledge base. So, allow me to properly introduce my current build

CASE: Thermaltake View 51
MOTHERBOARD: MSI MPG Z690 EDGE WIFI DDR4
CPU: Intel® Core™ i9-12900K Processor
MEMORY: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 64GB (4x16GB) DDR4 3200 (PC4-25600) C16
GPU: GeForce RTX™ 3090 24GB GDDR6X - GIGABYTE GAMING OC
POWER SUPPLY: 1050 Watts - Enermax EDT1050EWT MaxTytan Series 80 PLUS Titanium certified
Cooler: NZXT Kraken Z73
Storage: 5 drives with 7.24TB disk space on this PC. 3 SSD & 2 HDD
OS: Windows 11 Home (64-bit Edition)

2 Things to make clear I guess:
  1. This WAS an older build, in which I reinstalled all of the above components in myself PSU/MB/CPU/RAM/AIO/GPU/SSD&HDD
  2. https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/...-4-0-e-cores-1-29v-llc-6.293532/#post-4731362
and this is the overclocking of my 12900K, shared on this very same forum back in 07/21 .. Which I actually improved further and tested further and further, all 100% Stable. I have now at: 5.1ghz P-Cores & 4.1ghz E-Cores @ 1.23Volts LLC5. Prime95 12hours ✅, Cinebench23 ✅, IntelBurnTest Extreme ✅, with many thanks to the Kraken Z73 which helped me make this happen.

I'd swap the Samsung 980 pro with the Samsung 990 pro or the SK Hynix P41 platinum.

This appears to be an all out build so might as well get the best.

1200 watts is sufficient for this rig.

Memory wise, you might want to get something faster. 5600 is something you'd pair with a budget build and will cost you some performance. I assume because you are getting 64GB because you plan on using it all. Otherwise, 32GB is more than enough.

Can't speak on your specific motherboard choice but top end ASUS boards include a ton of OC options, more than any other brand I've tried. If you are an experienced overclocker they usually are a good choice. Otherwise I believe other brands like MSI focus on making it easier.

Monitor choice is modest given the rest of the build. There are 4K 144 Hz, 1440p 240 Hz, and OLED displays if you want an upgrade over that.

If your really into OC, I suggest a OC motherboard like ASUS Z790 Apex, Gigabyte Z790 Tachyon or EVGA Z790 Kingpin. Might even go with the direct die route as well with the EKWB block / Frame.

6.7 Ghz 2 core. 6 GHz all core using ASUS Z790 Apex.

When you build this you should post some juicy build pictures - please. :respect: At this level I have no recommendations but personally I would considering abandon any brand loyalty and get the top tier parts in all categories (perhaps compromising style a bit) for pure 100% top tier performance.

100% agreed on monitor, will be upgrading at some point. Would you say 6000MHz is good for memory?

Considering what you are spending on this build I would get a much better display I have that monitor it's servicable but there are tons of superior options at a min I would look at a decent 1440p 240hz or 4k144hz monitor

I'd also if able wait for 7000X3d reviews even if you are able to overclock a KS that's already at it's thermal limits with a 420mm aio I doubt it will beat the X3d chips in gaming.

Assuming it's cl32 or less yes that decent. You can also find 64GB DDR5 6400 CL32 kits for around $410 USD.

I guess if your going with 64GB of 5600, there is no room to OC that much and second, all those MBs I listed is 2 DIMMs only.

Rather than spouting off all these halo parts you intend to buy, the more helpful information you could give is WHY you need such halo products (just because you're an "overclocking freak" doesn't mean you need said parts) and WHAT you intend to use said build for. A word of advice: if it's "just for gaming" I think you REALLY need to tone down your parts list because I think beyond an i5-i7, it quickly becomes a game of diminishing returns once you step up to an i9. Now, if on the other hand, you intend to use said setup for professional workloads (rendering, content creation, all that good stuff that will most definitely benefit from monster CPUs like the i9-13KS) then that's a different story.

Also, in regards to overclocking, you're gonna need a helluva cooling solution on that specific chip - a 420mm AIO isn't gonna cut it - that's how hot the KS is. Not to mention the chip is already pretty much at its limits as-is. I doubt you'll be able to push it any further....

Any comment on the COOLER 2000RPM fans vs 1600RPM fans ?

The LCD display version of that cooler includes ML140 Elite fans where as the non-LCD display version only comes with the regular ML140 fans. I can't seem to find any reviews on the Elite but it does have air guides that the ML140 does not have.

If you come across anything on this ML140 Elite fans please let me know? IDK why I'm thinking the 2000RPM will work better than the 1600RPM on the LCD version!!!!

ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO DDR5 has 4 slots..
Yes, but I'm saying 5600-6400 is about the max you'll ever get stable with reasonable voltages. Of course its depends on your CPU IMC quality and the voltages your willing to pump in for daily. Unless you need the memory, your better off with 2-Slot MB and OC the crap out of it. Possibility until the 8600 range with Hynix A-Die. You said OC stuff is your jam.

thanks but just to confirm, with 4 of these https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categ...-RGB-DDR5-Memory---Black/p/CMT32GX5M2X6600C32 I can still overclock the CPU, no ?

I think it depends on the fan blades. Different blade styles have their own optimal rpm ranges.

I found this , https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categ...-RGB-DDR5-Memory---Black/p/CMT32GX5M2X6600C32

so 4 of those on the ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO DDR5 .. Good ?

Those are good, the only problem is that running two of those kits you might not be able to hit advertised speeds. 4 DIMMs is harder on the IMC than 2. You'd be better off finding a 2 DIMM kit that meets your needs.

I wouldn't focus too much on the RPM, even the EK Vardar only goes up to 1850 RPM and it's one of the best rad fans on the market.

Yes. It was reviewed here on TPU. Those are Hynix M-Die which will max out around 7000 MT/s unless you are willing to pump 1.6v into it for daily ( I don't suggest that). The ASUS Z790 Hero motherboard isn't the problem for that memory. The limits of the motherboard is anywhere from 7600-8000 for Z790 with 4-slots. But that is with 2 DIMMs. If you have four DIMMs, the number is much lower due to the limitation of the CPU IMC. Doesn't matter the MB much in this instance. I can take a quick detour here in a bit and see what I max out at for 13900K with 4x16GB. I haven't tried it yet. 12900K was 6200 MT/s for my limit if I remember correctly using daily voltages.

Thank you, I’m not gonna lie, I do not understand much on memory!! Not gonna be overclocking memory for sure. Just the CPU over clock, I might need to stick to the ASUS Z790 Hero. In that case do you recommend 2 sticks of 32GB instead to have 64GB total? 2x32 instead of 4x16??

Thats fine, memory OC isn't for everyone. In fact its hard to wrap your head around some of the terms and quarks that comes with manually overclocking. I do recommend jus 2 DIMMs over 4. But you will still run into the issue that the CPU IMC just can't handle the same high speeds because now it has double the pools of memory to look after. I only have limited OCing with 64GB kits because I only have 2 right now. 6800 MT/s boots, not stable. 6400 is stable with daily voltages. Maybe more tweaks on my end and a different MB would give better results, but I'm not sure. This of course for daily usage. You can go much higher if you want apply some abusive voltages for benchmark runs. Current record on HWBot for y-chuncher 10b is 7200 MT/s.

I'm indifferent on this. 2x32 is the only way to go for the 2-slot OC motherboards, but the outcome is basically the same. Not getting anywhere near 2x16GB. If you want plug-in play. 2x32GB @ 5600 MT/s is what I know will 100% work without any BIOS tinkering.

You should be aiming for 7200 MHz plus memory with a build of this tier on 13th gen. Also an AIO will never be as good as a custom loop for overclocking hard because the pump is weak and the radiator is thin.

Corsair digital psu is what you want. Look at our psu reviews.

Phanteks T30 is the best fan for rad/case.

7200+ for 32gb. 6600+ for 64 but question if you really need that much. It makes zero difference unless it's used, whereas MHz always makes a difference even if you're only using 1 GB of ram.

OMG , so confused .. in that case , isn't 4 sticks of DOMINATOR® PLATINUM RGB 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 DRAM 6600MHz C32
better than 2 sticks of DOMINATOR® PLATINUM RGB 64GB (2x32GB) DDR5 DRAM 6000MHz C40

can anyone please post some links to the best RAMS 64GB RAMS I can have for this setup? on ASUS Z790 Hero? Preferably CORSAIR RAM PLEASE!

I'm only finding CORSAIR 64GB KITS that are 6000 C40 !!
