Well, I have had a 19" Sony E400 Trinitron Monitor and it was one of the best CRT's that I have ever seen, but I hooked up my Acer AL2223W 22" widescreen and HOLY SHIT!!! This is a very nice quality monitor, I am still freaking out about how big it is.

Games are like nothing I have ever played before, the widescreen gives so much more room. Absolutely impressive, plus no ghosting due to the low ms response time.

Just WOW.

I'd like to get one, but I wasn't sure how much of a difference it is from the 19" LCD I have now. I couldn't justify spending hundreds of dollars for a couple inches.

It makes a TREMENDOUS difference from a normal 19" to a widescreen 22". I just went from a 20" WS to a 24" and it's like sitting in front of a bigscreen TV now.

To the OP, nice purchase. Gotta love the widescreen! :toast:

I was thinking of buying a 24" later next year...would it be worth it?? what about playing games??? iam unsure tho...would the bigger the screen mean...the eyes will struggle more?? like...would you be moving your head more when looking at a 24" screen rather than the 19"??

I thin it would depend on your viewing distance. I have a 22" but I got used to it.. it was working great now with my new desk my screen sits 2.5 feet away from my head and I find it a bit small at times/hard to read.. so as long as your not sitting to far away a 22" would be perfect Im sure.. me my eyes are not perfect anymore either, havent been for a long time.. but from my eye test thier not to bad.

^ what he said :)

i'm even looking at a 32" LCD TV, because its just so damned awesome getting decent resolution screens that are just huge.

your video card might struggle. giganto 24" use 1920x1080 res, so you'd better be able to game at that. even with a GTX here, i decided to stay 22" for more speed.

Yeah, you better make sure your video card can handle these types of monitors. Luckily my HD2900 pro does just fine in all of the latest games.

I've got the same Acer monitor and it looks amazing without a doubt. I've experienced no ghosting and the backlight is fine also! Kicks my old Dell CRT monitor's ass. :rockout:

Hope your enjoying your new monitor! :toast:

dude you think 19 to 22 was drastic...
I've been using my 17" macbook pro for around a year now and just got the Samsung 245BW a couple days ago! I'm almost considering downgrading to 22" it's just way bigger than I expected
