Replacing my motherboard

i Have an HP pavilion a1120n and need to replace the Asus PTGD-LA Goldfish3-GL8E mother board that is curently deaad. I am not sure if there is a compatible board out there that I can use in place of that exact board. Is there a compatible replacement
for it?

well any lga775 thats matx form factor should work..

As English has pointed out ...WINDOWS man windows.....you really need to think a couple steps ahead when advising the new guys what to replace, unless of course you already know he is fully aware of the issues to come with his OS with your statement.

I agree with the both of you , but to just say any mobo will work is only half correct. It will in fact work with his components but not with his HP copy of windows, nor will MS activate it for him!:toast:

well yeah, its installed to the mobo, but idk how hes gonna get the same mobo, so he'll end up getting a new mobo, and then idk, i guess he'd need a new copy of windows.

My copy of XP Home was a Dell OEM and I got MS to activate it after changing my mobo... and cpu and ram and hdd and gpu etc etc. The only original Dell part was the DVD+RW and that's since been replaced!

I've found MS to be very accomodating when re-activating OEM licenses.

If he buys the same model of board, as in the ebay link I supplied earlier he'll have the least amount of work to do.
