Clubhouse idea

I think that the rule should be one club per person.

There's a specific group of people, that create a lot of diferent clubs.

Although I've only made 2, 1 of them is dead.

What do you think of this idea?

I say yes to avoid all the different clubhouse spam, and there should only be allowed 1 club per person. For example to elaborate my idea: If i wanted to make another club, and I already have 1, It should deny me permission to start a new thread in the club forum.

Us moderators are discussing what to do about the club forum, because we feel that the current design is quite flawed.

Solutions range from simply eliminating it, and moving the important clubs to their respective forums (power users to general nonsense, HD2K owners clubhouse to video cards, etc), to deleting BS clubs and having a user consult a moderator before starting a club.

I'm happy to hear your opinions on the matter, though. When done right, the clubs are a lot of fun. When abused, the whole thing makes about as much sense as a drunken orangutan eating ice cream on a trampoline.

I see some sense in some clubs, heck I'm a member of the X1950/HD2K club. I found a lot of interesting info on cooling and stats there, but there are some clubs I see no sense in at all. But I suppose if people out there do find meaning in them and enjoy visiting them no matter the helpfulness of it and thus in my opinion should stay open. But only under context of popularity for some that are not more "tech/help" related. These clubhouses seem to add to the online community here, even if minor to some, it seems more important to others.

Using a different context/format to help control them would be a good idea though. I think start with trimming less popular current clubs, and from now on, to create a clubhouse in that section will require mod authorization. And really beyond that point they should be tech/help related, sure there can be some fanboyism, can't have a healthy online social system without disagreements and support right?

I haven't really been too bothered with the clubs, but it seems they are popular here. And lately it seems too many have been started that could be covered in fewer and more helpful clubs. In the end, they really don't bother me too much as I can overlook them easily or check them out if I feel the rare need to.

Maybe it can only be a serious club only?,like fastest this or that,or this or that owner,no bs clubs.

I have go to say though, I like being a member of the TF2 Clubhouse, the Power User Clubhouse, and the Photoshop User Clubhouse! I have tri-citizenship.
