This Week in Gaming (Week 44)

Do you? There is not much in this list that's worth playing, unless maybe you haven't played some of the originals from these remasters.
That's up to you, not the games. As for me, I'm quite excited to try Moon Mystery.

Ouch! The list is as I explained last week, based on what's new and what's popular, but I guess you would've preferred something else, but didn't let me know ahead of posting it.
I don't post this list based on my preferences and personally I would most likely not spend my money on any of the games this week, but I have bought games I've posted about in the past.
I guess you also missed that it's not the first time that person has commented that and we're coming up to the 44th week of the year and so far there has apparently been nothing good this year.

Given the amount of people on this very forum who brag about emulating consoles and do not actually purchase the game (ie theft which PC gaming is famous for) I don't think it matters if it wasn't released on the PC.

I picked up Iron Meat on Steam and the Zelda Echos of Wisdom on Switch and those are doing me well now!
Well, it matters in as much as it's a new old release on PC, which is why it made the list, plus the fact it's a popular franchise.
If it's worth buying is a different matter and no-one is forced to buy anything and TPU doesn't make any kind of kickback from the list I put together.

Do you even play games?
yeh man, just the list this week is not my kinda jam, trying to finish res evil revelations 2, stray and looting in d4 voh

I thought we'd made it through 44 weeks of the year without a single game that appealed to you, since this wasn't the first time you commented that there was nothing interesting.

You know back in September there was god of war ragnarok and ff16, I dig those :)

I know it is insane. Once you have a huge library (and a PC you enjoy) Gaming is much more refined than buying the new thing every week though. Don't get me wrong I would love something like Max Payne2 or what would really be cool is if someone remastered Record of Lodoss War for the Dreamcast and ported it to PC.
Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake is in the works by Remedy.

Remedy Entertainment will remake the iconic Max Payne and Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne as a single title, in a development agreement with Rockstar Games.

Please add Epic link if game is sold on Epic Store at least Epic give us FREE games every week and BIG AAA games Free unless steam is paying you not to add EPIC that's a different story.

I'll mos def get Red Dead Redemption when it's in the discount bin. I played the original on the ps3 and it was loads of fun.

No. I spend enough time on this as is and mangagement demanded the Steam link. Click on the link to the publisher if the Steam link is not good enough for your personal needs.
Alternatively, you can pay me every week to add it, as I don't do this for free.

Oh sorry. I don't really know about that guy in particular so I just saw the post and thought it sounded a bit flippant

That new Life is Strange will be most likely the last brand new game I'm buying this year, big fan of the serie in general + Max too so I can't miss out on that one.:)

To back this up as a reader (and I actually come a lot for the enterprise products and audio stuff that the gaming group ignores but I love and thanks for the good work!) to me Steam is the defacto PC client. Not that I don't have Epic, GOG, and others but Steam is sort of where it's all located because it's simpler. It's also got the most accurate grasp of who is buying what and who has what hardware by default. As a measuring tool it's very effective.

It was, a bit.

It's not just that though, as if we start doing Epic, we're going to be asked to do GOG, Amazon, EA and then every other site in the universe that sells games... Which is why I link directly to the games as and when possible. Some smaller game developers only have the Steam listing, no website, no social media, no YouTube.

Soul Caliber and DoA like most fighters keep churning out the next version though. The only glowups have really been the OG Street Fighter 2 Super Turbo. The problem is nobody plays the ones that got an HD glowup everyone still plays the OG version. It's very well known that the fighting game community does not play remakes. They always end up avoided like the plague. The rare cases releasing them on a newer platform has worked it's always been taking the ROM of the original game and simply adding in online along with the fighting game communities (well the Street Fighter community did it) roll back netcode to make them worth playing online.

I hear you. I'd like them to remaster Soul Calibur 2 for Steam and release it for Switch 2 on the condition we can play as Link on the PC version. I bought SC6 for full price and didn't have nearly the fun I had with 2 and 3. Those were the best. Not worth buying the other versions.

I'll try to unshroud the Moon Mystery if it fits my budget. Otherwise I'll get it on sale.

I can't really put Moon Mystery anywhere. Is it a shooter? A puzzle game? Or a mystery-exploration game? I don't know. But it looks interesting enough to get my vote.

A shooter, with mystery and exploration. I tried the demo back in June and it was pretty cool. But it was a technical mess, really uneven performance between levels and some of the controls were pretty bad.

It definitely has potential. I wonder how much they were able to improve since then.

Would be RDR, but price is way too high. The rest is thoroughly uninteresting

You’ve got the wrong forum site. TPU is staunchly anti-piracy, as are the majority of it’s members. Unless something has changed here, it’s also not allowed for members to make posts that are pro-piracy. Altogether, your statement doesn’t have much of a leg to stand on.

Ooo, Shadows of the damned got a remaster, if I can get it for a reasonable price I'll get it.

The vast majority of gamers use Steam for purchases. The rest can search on their preferred platforms to their heart's content.

That, and for the studio to make more money in general, without taking the effort of creating and releasing a new game. Laziness and greed.
They gotta make that $400 million lost on ConCord somehow.

Perhaps using a store aggregator like isthereanydeal or gg.deals (if you don't mind key sites being listed) would be a better alternative. I don't personally care about the link in the article, but I wanted to add to the topic.
