As the title suggests I have been having some stuttering issues in cyberpunk. Specifically when some hud elements pop up, sometimes it happens when I am notified of a new area, get a in game text. Or when im doing a gig and the objective changes or a new place gets marked. These show up on the frame time graph and a straight line up and do not show up in the 1% lows only 0.1%. I have severe OCD and fear that something hardware related is wrong with my system. Which if is the case want to know so I can sort it out sooner then later. My specs are as follows.

Motherboard = Asus tuf b650-e wifi

Ram = Corsair DDR5 6000mhz cl30 32gb dual channel

CPU = 7700x stock only setting changed is c state off, the stutters still apparent before and after this setting was on

GPU = Asus Prime 4070 ti super oc

SSD = WD sn580 blue updated to the latest firmware to avoid the bluescreen 24H2 bug

Thermaltake 750w gold rated psu (I don’t remember what one exactly but I know it isn’t one of the ones everyone hates)

also am using a lian li vertical GPU mount but I have ruled that out as I removed it as a trouble shooting step and same issues. No difference using it vs not

I run duel monitors one aoc 75hz one aoc 24g2sp main monitor at 165hz,

Capping my frames in Riva made the game stutter less but still have the major ones as described above. Capping in control panel hasn’t been any better. Used Vsync on off g sync on off no difference

my settings are cranked to the max but running at 1080p, with frame gen and dlss quality with the new transformer model. Old dlss model again doesn’t help. I also continue to have these issues with any sort of ai frame gen or upscaling disabled.

I’ve turned off nvidea overlay and game bar all that junk.

at this point I’m at a loss this is a new pc and I’m honestly wishing sometimes I stuck to console gaming. But man does path tracing look good. I don’t believe this is an issue with my settings as the issues I’m having all don’t seem like the types of issues caused by lacking hardware. My cpu never hits 95 when gaming max at about 85c when it’s really intensive but that makes sense because I’m playing 1080p.

Mouse polling rate doesn’t change anything I’ve been playing at 125 for the last few days still same issues

I do have multimonitor compatability enabled in profile inspector. As well as having rBAR turned on in there.

When I play siege on dx12 I also get stuttering. None on dx11 and I believe cyberpunk is dx12 so that may lead to something?

any and all help would be great. Don’t be afraid to leave me a suggestion even if it’s something that should be painfully obvious, I tend to hyperfixate on stuff like this and forget to think about the obvious stuff.

this probably doesn’t matter but I ran cyberpunk off my igpu at the lowest settings still getting 100% usage off it and no stuttering. So I believe it’s something to do with drivers or a setting clashing with my gpu

This happened on the latest drivers but I also rolled back to the December drivers the 566 one and still having the issues. Ddu and all. Even ddu my audio drivers and reinstalled

Only mod I have is one to turn async off because ChatGPT told me to do that lmao

thanks for getting this far

Does it say on ASUS' website that RAM that you got (Corsair) is approved for your motherboard? Usually AMD and Corsairs can be a problematic combination.

Yep. It’s on the qvl list. Checked when I was having what I thought was ram issues but it was just my negative offset curve which I’ve turned off. Xmp on and off still have this issue.

Look up the keyword stutter and micro stutter in the search bar of this website and there should be plenty of fixes

Check psu voltages

Msi hawk r7870 had a gpu reactor unit to filter such signal anomalies out. Msi was good. I had 47.5% overclcok with it.

Uninstall Rivatuner Statistics Server (comes with Afterburner if you select it at install)
Uninstall all the crap that came with Asus Armory Crate and disable the preload of the installer from the BIOS option.

Then try again. Asus' hardware monitoring tools have been the confirmed source of microstuttering for about 10+ generations of CPUs now. Rivatuner Statistics Server used for Afterburner overlays has caused some people problems with certain Windows builds/KB patches.

I will disable the preload option but I always select no for armoury crate anyway. Won’t afterburner not work without riva?

If you're running Windows 11 24H2, you need to shut off Rebar in your UEFI/BIOS. While what is causing this microstutter problem is unknown currently, it does not seem to be happening in 23H2 and seems to stop if Rebar is disabled in 24H2. If you can roll back to 23H2, do so. If not, disable Rebar. With your 4070ti, you're not going to feel the difference as much as see the stuttering go away.

The frametime graph and overlay don't work without RT statstics server, but Rivatuner itself still works fine. The RT statistics server has been the source of frame spikes for plenty of people.

There are so many potential causes for microstuttering that you just have to try all the solutions, one at a time, until your issues go away. If it was as simple as one single cause there wouldn't be so many threads around the web about stuttering and hitching.

Reminds me...
I had the (supposedly fixed) TPM Stutters last time I played with 11, too.
Related?

Maybe? I've seen the Rebar disabled thing work for 24H2 stuttering, but disabling TPM might work also. It depends on what's causing it and sadly that is an unknown ATM.

I agree with RTSS advice, for years it ran 24/7, but it hooks in to everything, even if you set detection to off, it still hooks. Now what I do is I fire up afterburner once to get the curve loaded on the GPU, then shut it down, as RTSS auto starts with afterburner, something I think which should be optional. I didnt uninstall it as RTSS can be useful in some games, and also useful if want to debug with an OSD.

Anything on HPET?

I will try both. If rebar disabled works I’ll roll back to 23h2. Anything I’d be missing from using an older version of windows 11?

My frame time graph. Keep in mind when I’m in game I have random much worse stutters. This just showcases my poor framepacing. Usually getting 80-90 fps so I capped it in riva with a frame rate I know I can hit. Before I reinstalled windows this was relatively flat with the occasional mini spike and in game the occasional monumental micro stutter.

this is dlss quality but no frame gen. Looks similar without dlss just with 40 something to 60 fps, in apex I get a steady 166. Until I don’t and it drops to 50. Happened twice when I used an octane pad and 3 times randomly.

Honestly that frametime graph is about as good as it gets unless you run the most pared-back, streamlined and stripped Windows install possible.

The only thing I'm seeing in the actual video footage is uneven frame pacing because you're not using VRR.

Without VRR, unless you can GUARANTEE a framerate for running with regular fixed vsync, and then cap your game framerate to that exact framerate, you have to accept stuttery/uneven frame delivery. Vsnyc at a fixed refresh accentuates the stutters, no vsync tends to give you smoother animation but tearing all over the place.

I'd run VRR at all times, even in competitive titles - because VRR's added latency is negligible as long as you have a high-refresh monitor. Maybe if I was still a 20-year-old and gaming in high-end tournaments with a lot of money on the line I'd consider Nvidia reflex instead of VRR, but I'd also likely be able to afford a 360Hz monitor and a CPU+GPU to drive it. Lowest measured latency isn't the only thing that gives you a competitive edge - being able to accurately predict motion and lead targets is equally important and that benefits from even frame pacing and animation smoothness just as much as low latency.

This is with gsync on vsync off. Did this yesterday when I was tired so forgot if I tried with g sync off might try that. I always force vsync off and just cap the frame rate in riva. Which was fine before I reinstalled windows now I have the wonky graph even when I’m capping to a frame rate 10 bellow average. Must’ve been a setting that got reset when I fresh installed will mess around with some settings tonight since I did another fresh install but on 23h2 and update this post if I strike gold

In the past year I have gone back to Windows 10 on all my computers due to recent versions of Windows 11 causing stuttering in games, low quality audio headphone audio when a microphone is active, random disconnects from multiplayer servers. All three systems worked fine then developed issues after at least a year. For every system, I tried everything including a reinstall of 11. All three had all issues fixed with a Windows 10 install. Windows 11 has gotten worse.

I think its a power issue... Try a 1000wPSU if you still have the problem.
I also saw someone using Afterburner, and they had terrible hitching. Uninstalling that helped.
The only other thing I can think of is uninstalling the Gamebar recording capability in registry. I forget the 3 letter acronym.

It's not a power issue. For the parts they have that PSU is just fine.

That could be involved. No harm in shutting it off.

Also, reseat power cables to GPU.

I have had horrible stuttering caused by a loose PCIe 8-pin, more than once.
Re seated both from the psu side and GPU side. Made sure it clicked made sure it was fully seated. Left plenty of slack on the cable when managing it so it couldn’t have loosened. It easily pulls over 300w on steel nomad when I overclocked it. No stutters on steel nomad too. But I am having stutters on apex and r6. Thinking it may be some type of cpu issue because steel nomad is the only thing it’s not stuttering in and that’s very low cpu usage max GPU usage. Never hit over 15% on it. Already know my cpu was a very weak silicone one as I cannot even do 5 negative offset curve without any weird ram related errors. On two different sets and motherboards may I add. With the smaller stutters sometimes I feel like I’m imagining them because of all the stress this has caused so I like to have a frame time graph to make sure what I’m seeing is right. I uninstalled msi afterburner and downloaded framecapx or whatever it’s called and same issue. I understand they both use rtss but I’m sure that’s not the issue as I’m still sure I see these stutters with it off and out of the app dock. And the bigger ones are definitely still there. I managed to stop my frame time graph from being one solid block with framegen on but I changed something and it’s back and I forgot what I did in the first place to make it smooth (when it’s not microstuttering)
