DDR2, because I don't think that DDR3 is cost effective.

Mushkin and Crucial. Both are owned by Micron, and both always use some form of Micron D9s. Garunteed.

hat,
Mushkin has nothing to do with Micron, except that they use Microns on some of the modules they make. Like half of the industry.

My G.Skill's are great OC-ing ram. look good and are cheap compared to when I purchased them. Read some reviews on the memory that catches your eye and fits your budget, see if it can go where you want to take it.

You might want to look for G.Skill part number F2-8000CL5D-4GBPQ.

My Crucial can hit over 920 with stock voltage, cas5-4-4-12. The motherboard limits me from more.

I got myself some OCZ 6400 reaper edition with 3-4-4-15 timings. I got them overclocked to the 1000mhz mark with 5-5-5-15 timings, a 25% overclock. and i wasn't even trying that hard! good value too... 82euro for 2 gb!

My 2gb kit of G.Skill PC6400 phu2-2gbhz kit is rated for 2.10v @ 4-4-4-12 timings at DDR2 800 speeds, so far I've hit DDR2 1000 easily with 2.15v @ 4-4-4-12 timings. Remember though results may vary. I know my set does very well, and many hafe used this same kit, they look good, oc very well, and have been at pretty good prices. Some say they don't use the D9GMH's anymore, I cannot confirm this, but I do know mine are and that these were very popular for being one of the cheapest with those chips a few months ago.

As long as you research what you're getting, make sure it suits your needs and your plans for it, we can all recommend, but it's your money and decision. And also remember overclocking results can vary by my many things with different setups and hardware.

Transcend AxeRAM. Runs DDR2-800 4-4-4-12 at 1.8v. I've pushed mine to DDR2-1066 5-5-5-15 at 1.8v...notice the voltage...If you up the volt you can certainly tighten the timings. Phenomenal RAM and is very cheap (About $55 for 2gb) And I have it running at DDR2-856 right now because I can't unlink my RAM from my CPU and my CPU couldn't handle it...

2.45? Thats really not good. Ur gonna kill them. Try lowering vdimm and check for stability. Keep active cooling over them also.;)

So what would be the cheapest RAM I could get and OC to 1000+mhz and need little to no accessories (or if it is cheaper to do accessories).
