i dont no which one i should go with Dell XPS m1710 or the ASUS G2SA1 what do you guys think

i no the 8600M GT will suck in DX10 games

i would go for the dell. Being that the asus can do dx10, its gonna do a crap job. Get a card that at least can do dx9 well. you can upgrade the cpu, but not to sure on the gpu. You have to see if it has a MXM slot, but mxm are starting to rare and hard to find the cards. Also the faster hdd in the dell will really benefit.

i would go with the dell. i just think that if your going to play DX10 games on a laptop it better be able to do its job without constantly being plugged into a mains. something constantly being plugged into the mains is called a PC!

I'm sure both laptops are going to be horrible on battery life.

Having bought both ASUS and Dell laptops, I've dealt with both companies' customer support. I've found Dell to be only slightly better overall. I'm sure personal experience will greatly differ. Customer support/warranty may be a factor for your decision.

But yeh, if your concern is to game, get the Dell one. No point getting the 8600m GT which can't handle high DX10 settings anyways. Unless you don't mind playing with low/medium settings

Toshiba! Find a model that suits your budget and your needs.

Dell isn't even in the running, with poor quality and even worse customer support.

What do you need the notebook for?
Are you even going to play games on it, if so which ones?

Do you need long battery power?

The Geforce Go 7950GTX trounces the 8600M GT in games. There's no point trying to run DirectX 10 on the 8600M GT, it simply isn't powerful enough to reward you with performance. The 7950GTX is better any day of the week- unless you are aiming for battery life, however if the latter is the case then you shouldn't be looking at this type of notebook.

Dell. Buy extend the warranty for another year or 2 if you plan to keep that long.
