2x 7900 GTX for $300 USD.

I know that the cards are sort of out of date, but they will suit me just fine for my everyday use. I have a friend who keeps badgering me about how i should have just gotten 1 8800 GTX instead. What do you guys think?

I'd say it wasn't worth it. I'm selling a 8800GTX for about 380 with free shipping on eBay. One 8800 GTX will last you a much longer than 2 7900's

I think its an ok deal, you did play more or less what it is worth. But any 88 would have been a better choice.

Ouch! I saw two 7900GTX card go for little over $200 the other day on eBay. (From a single seller). One went for $102, other $106. Now that we are closer to Christmas, they are going for little bit more. People will pay weird amounts of cash during the Christmas shopping season for stuff that ain't worth it. In fact, I myself sell/unload most of my hardware on eBay a week or two before Christmas, since I usually get up to two times as much cash for it than any other time of the year.

Myself, I always wait for the retail-dump-season which always kicks in around early-to-mid February. Great deals on Newegg and such.

Back on topic: you overpaid.

He could get a refund if this was on eBay and he paid with PayPal...its not ethical, but it wouldn't be the first time someone was dissatisfied with their purchase (Even though it was described perfectly and was as described) and filed a dispute making up a small issue. PayPal always sides with buyers, the only time they won't is if the buyer doesn't respond to the dispute by the deadline. Also if you paid with a credit card over PayPal you can file for a chargeback.

I don't agree with that at all. I am an ebay seller and I hate it when people do that. Getting your money back from paypal is extremely difficult, but possible.

The deal you got is ok, it will last you for a while, but you should have gone with the 8800.

For that money you could have got the new 8800GTS 512mb :eek:

You should have post your plans to buy 2x 7900GTX's on here first so we could all say "step away from the old technology!"

I'm a seller too which is why I hesitate to recommend it, but he did get slightly swindled even though it was his own fault to spend that amount of money. If you bitch and moan enough PayPal will always side with the buyer, and they always have the option of a Chargeback.

I just sold 2 7900GT's and got $110 each for them after I only paid $75 each for them. You overpaid for sure, but if you sell them quickly and seperately you should get most if not all your money back. I personally refund any paypal payment I get that is credit card so that I don't get some idiot doing a chargeback because of buyer's remorse. To anyone that does that you are a complete ass and should not be such a coward.

If it fits your needs 2 7900 gtx cards in sli should do everything you ask of them with change. yes you could have gotten a better card for a little more or near the 300 but you also could have done far worse.

Just saw on ebay avg selling price of a 7900gtx is 150.00 + so and thats what people are bidding on them so....

I side with JC on this one, if you're a seller this wastes your time and POOpal will side with buyers; they don't give a monkeys about sellers-they need a bit of this :nutkick:

Those cards'll last a little while longer under xp if you're not really fussed on dx10 yet, hell I'm not until fista is optimized and I can make use of it :shadedshu

Probably a good idea you can probably pull $100-$120 each and toss a few bucks at it and get a 8800GT.
