8800GTS 512 with a slightly less edgy cooler? But still, this is a replacement for the 8800GTX not the GTS 512 right?

My GTS is already beyond 9800GTX speeds. However, considering the 9800GTX is only set to be priced $50 more, it is more than worth the price. The PCBs have a better power setup, and they use better memory. So the 9800GTX should overclock much better than the GTS.

lol that card looks sweet.... but one thing, now im really confused about the specifications of the 8XXX and 9XXX. first i thought that the 8XXX would be better then the 9XXX series but i think they are gradually getting better.

Can anyone be kind enough to give me a whole list of details for the whole 8800 series ( gts, gt, gtx, ultra) and the whole 9xxx series ( gt, gts, gtx, ultra if there is one). i want to compare everysingle detail in between these cards.

im not a overclocker so i want my system to be fast without overclocking.

like the 9600 gt,

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Zotac/GeForce_9600_GT_Amp_Edition

look at the table and compare, somethings are good in this card, and some are good in the 8800 series.

and thanks !

Wow I expected more. With the GTX name, Im hoping it will replace the 8800gtx, not the gts 512.

How do you know they have a better power setup? I would like to see this new power setup, that is also better.

I see you saying this but I dont see any proof, if the 9800's are worth the price then I'll most likely be getting one.

Benchmark Scores It does boot up? I think.
Nick89,
9800GTX has four vGPU phases + dual vMEM vDD + 1 phase vMEM vDDQ. That's much better than 8800GTS 512MB with just 3 vGPU phases + unified vMEM vDD & vDDQ.

Look at the closeup pictures of the PCB, the better power setup is prety obvious and there is no other reason for a longer PCB, and it is a well known fact what the power setup of the 9800GTX is going to be, as stated by largon.
