i hear the 8.3 drivers hurt your 3dmark score really bad... have they fixed this yet or what?
not that 3dmarlk is everything, real world gaming performance is what really matters, just curious?

are the optimized drivers supposed to fix this?

I was using cat 8.2 extreme g driver but my mobo died few days ago so i cant test this one till i get my new one through.

I wasnt happy with the amd 8.3 so maybe tweakforce did a better job? let us know.

But ive always used extreme g drivers they are normally optimized for preformance out of all the drivers for the x2 so far 8.2 XG has been the best they are normally better than amd/ati ones for fps.

Been using these for few years now they were great on my x1900xt.

Miracles anyone? I wish it would just turn powerplay off. That alone will increase performance by 20%. It nearly eliminated ungodly fdrops by OCing 5mhz in the 3870 & x2. Otherwise the fdrop would persist even at low resolutions.

Tweakforce take the default driver settings and tweak it for max preformance fps
8.3 was buggy for me anyway so if there is bugs its more than likely down to amd.

you could try the XG 8.2 instead works the best for me so far but as i said i cant test 8.3 XG atm.

I usually don't use the CCC drivers, but I'd be happy to do a comparison test between a few different versions of Catalyst once I have my PC situation taken care of.

i was thinking of using tri-fire...3870X2 and a 3870 did you try this?

yes 8.3 is crossfire supported still its just been tweaked.

I dont normally use official drivers for long as soon as XG brings one out i use them there normally faster.

Using it now in the cosmos. Its actually faster than the quad-fire which is just stupid. I guess those 2 diamonds really like each other :toast:

If any of you are thinking they must mess with image quality to get better fps this isnt true this is some tweaking info they gave for a older driver as you can see they actually improved the IQ.

no they install fine, but i still can't crossfire my cards with any drivers other than the default drivers. which the default drivers are 11-10-07
