So here is my situation. When I originally bought my computer, I had it with gaming and what not in mind. Now that I dont really play games as often as I do anymore, I feel that the computer is WAAAYYY overpowered for what I need/want.
Here is my dilemma. Should I keep the board and get a new CPU? Or get a new board and keep the CPU? Because at this point, the way the DFI x38 oc options are, they are mad insane. (like the P35 and x48) I dont now what to do with all the options because after a certain point and time, you have to mess with GTL's to get a stable overclock and I dont have the time nor the patiece to do that. And since i dont have the time or the patience, I am not getting the full potential out of this chip. I had it at 3.5GHz 14+hrs prime stable and then yesterday, I started getting blue screens and random game freezes. Tested with prime and all cores failed in under 5 seconds.
If I get rid of the CPU, what should I get in its place? If I keep the CPU, what board should I get in its place? (that doesnt have GTL's to mess with)
Thoughts?
