[FS][US] New ATI HD3870 512MB GDDR4 (from DELL) Free Shipping

I have a brand new HD3870 for sale. This is a video card that was included with a Dell XPS 420 media system. I upgraded the computer to a Palit 9600GT Sonic 1024MB so I don't need the ATi card.

This card only saw a few hours of use while I set up the XPS. The Palit showed up the next day and took the ATi's place. It didn't even see a 3D app before getting pulled. The most work it had was probably when Vista did the 'performance test'. For what its worth, the ATi pegged a 5.9 score.

Price: $130 USD, I cover shipping to US lower 48 (card only, no accessories or driver disk)

well then its a matter of opinion, cause i see -$5 and it being dell and no warranty as a very bad deal compared to brand new with a year warranty from the egg and who knows how long on top of that from sapphire for +$5.

hmm... it just so happens that some 3870's are $200! he could have a more expensive version... thus prices it higher (dell makes their own cards? no right?)

In this particular case, yes. The Palit has certain features I wanted to take advantage of and has twice as much onboard ram.

Performance wise the 3870 and the 9600GT 512MB version run neck and neck. I'm not sure how much of a performance difference the extra 512MB makes, but like I said, the Palit has other features I want to take advantage of.

Bump for 3870's, if i wasn't running 2 ( 2nd one for birthday present tomorrow Diamond Viper version ) i'd pick it up!

but it does gain a bit over the 9600's on all levels in my experience and for gaming. ( Age of Conan, COD4, TF2 anyways ) with HDCP ready, video offloading, and the other handy playback features, makes a nice HTPC card although a bit loud unless you get the heatpipe version.

Since the card is OEM, and looks like a BBA (Built By ATI) card, any bios updates for the 3870 will probably work with your card. Also, there are more coolers that might work better with it due to design (when I got my AC Acellero S1, one of the ramsinks wouldn't let the cooler make 100% contact with the core, don't know if this card would suffer the same problems.)

To the best of my knowledge ATI's only OEM is sapphire, which would make this a pretty good card.

just as an FYI i have 2 OEM ATi 3850s that do great and i have flashed to updated BIOS's and they work fine gotten 820 core out of them so far but im on the single slot coolers so temps are kinda warm so not pushing them yet...
