nortichardware is pretty reliable in my opinion

800SP's = :)

The extra 320 are supposed to be for PhysX to rival Nvidia's CUDA PhysX

I do commend their stupidity, it made for a good laugh :p

Even if everyone is saying its impossible, its definitely been heard before with the 29xx & 38xx. 160*5D vs 96*5D is certainly possible but the card will pwn either way :rockout:

it's fake, these cards have already been shipped and the final specs have been out for the last 30 days. it is impossible to fit 800 stream processors on a core of that size.

very interesting,

i think this might be true, as amd did promise 1tflop+ and a new shader architecture... plus whoever made that would get into uber trouble for stamping the amd logo on unofficial documents etc

but you never know, it is preety suspicious

It might be that its just unfinished but from the way it looks, it was probably not ready for the public just yet. If it was right the 4870 would crush the 3870x2 - in benchmarking  I want to see these things in action - NOW :p

I don't mine at all. None of us truly believe these fuzzy charts anyway. I'll be going to XS for my laughs. They are incredible compared to us. Some of those idiots are staking their firstborn on them :shadedshu

+1. 800SP would have to equate to a die size larger than the GTX280's-the GTX280's die size is already a monstrousity (2x the surface area of a G92's die... thats freaking huge!).

Unless of course that was a typo and was meant to be the R700, but STILL. AMD Does not make their shader processor quads in 100s...R700 is 960 Shaders, 480x2.

heres an interview with one of the AMD engineers explaining about the R700s: http://youtube.com/watch?v=oHg5SJYRHA0

Yep its fake. Specs are too fishy.

Hey guys does malware have something against Fudzilla? Those guys have good info on the latest stuff, but some reason Malware likes to ignore me when I approach him with those articles...

SPs are cheaper then you think. :slap: (R580 anyone?) And why is everyone set on this 256mm2 die? The pics ive seen are very close to the size of the G92, but a bit smaller. Also R580 had 12 SIMDs vs 4 of the R520, and it looks like close to that but down 2 to 10. The only reason im on the 800sp train is because of the "Terascale" talk with RV770, and that would imply so with the clocks shown. The 480sp with shader domain was FUD, and alot of guys know this. This will be very interesting, and i dont see how this isnt crazy to think, this reminds me ALOT of last gen, cept instead of the RV770 coming when the RV670 came out. I can understand because of the complexity of these newer chips.

ATi partners and even employees are so tight lipped about this chip its not ever funny. So all my views are not from ATi, they dont really tell me much, cept "test this driver please".

Well... Inquirer, there is a reason-the writer makes the articles really biased (to ATi) most of the time.. Fudzilla, I wouldn't really know. Last year I accused them of making BS up, but I was shut up when all their "bullshit" was actually true; i.e. R600 actually was inferior to the G80.

Those guys seem to usually have the news of hardware specs WAY before everyone else...

Well as a ATI fanboi heres hoping. I have a question though: I have been getting a advanced feel for computers and how it got to where it is for a while now, enough so to make it a effective career, but would some be able to explain a bit how die size comes into this and how it works for the video cards? I would greatly appreciate it.

Die = the silicon chip of a processor. Basically we are talking about the size of the chip itself, or the "Die size" in this context.
