Please help, I am trying to figure this out....

One of my users are getting >'s added to their emails like this

>Hello
>How are you
>Blah Blah Blah
>ECt.

Every line gets the > put before it, and I cannot find how to remove these, I cannot find it on google, nor can I find it by digging through outlook

It happens during new emails, replies, and forwards.

He is using Outlook 2003 Basic Version.

Thanks for the help all :respect: :respect:

well... i've seen that when you reply to someone. it does the > to signify that that was the original message and the message before it and so on. i dont know what or where to turn it off though.

ahh very good idea! Thanks!

I will try that and post my results.

I had thought that was a thing that happened with forwarding emails, but it seems to do it to all of the emails. Im not at this computer, its at a remote office, so Im trying to fix this over the phone:banghead:

You can also get copy+paste tools (and plugins) to remove that sort of stuff. Very useful. Remove ">"s, or remove RTF format encoding, or remove certain words or characters.

Yeah I could, but I would have to teach how to use it to very inexperienced users. We wanted to actually solve the root of the problem, and FIT came through!

Quite true! Solutions for us are often different from solutions for supported (non techie) users.

yep exactly, If that happened to me I would find a way around it, try to fix it, or when all else fails, reinstall the program, for people that are inexperienced, I normally try and make it as easy as possible for them.

The user that I fixed was very pleased with the response I got here, enough so that I think he might be making a personal login here so he can learn from the vast amounts of knowledge on here.
