Hi guys I've just come into some money ($300 if you didn't read the title) and want some suggestions on how I should spend it. Obviously if I'm posting this here I'm talking about PC Hardware so give me the best advice possible on how I can use this money to increase performance, etc. If you have a good suggestion try to follow it up with some links.
What I don't want:
Suggestions without specifics

get rid of the psu, and replace it with a corsair 500w psu. and then add more ram, and finnally either quad up your performance or add another hdd and raid it.

of course, you could always spend the cash on other stuff, such as condoms, booze, some fireworks, and possibly a trip to a club to rave, have some acid, and watch a lasershow and fireworks on the 4th :rockout:

I like the sound of your second suggestion.

Always good to know the owner of my favorite site can get down and party well. :toast::rockout:

You can haz:

1. ASUS P7N-D (NForce 750i SLI) sells for $130~$140. There's a MSI P7N SLI Platinum with the same chipset but better board layout. If an e-tailer gets generous, puts up a $145~$155 deal, take it.
2. Another 500GB identical to the one you have, build a RAID 0, get amazed at the performance increment.
3. With crash in RAM prices, see if you can squeeze in a dual-channel kit identical to the one you have.

We haz taken care of 1. Upgradability 2. Strengthened the weakest sub-system (storage) 3. Expanded the RAM.

In America the 4th is when we buy a bunch of fireworks, get drunk, and blow everything up

hellz yeah! i think me and some buddies are buying 200 pounds of dry ice to blow up stuff with since we cant set off fireworks here :p

@w1zz, yeah i like how you're a cool guy, pimping and partyin when you want to, but putting out cool stuff like tpucapture and gpu-z while getting 5000 pics of hot girls from all of the conventions hahaha:toast:

During his absence, W1z will set "Get drunk n laid yo™ " as his custom title :p

So back on topic, seems PSU, motherboard, CPU, RAM, and hard drive are the top choices.

i would definently do the psu first.. and then figure out what else from the suggestions to do, based on what prudent's main computer usage is (ex. gaming, media, etc.)

Yeah i would get that PSU out of there ASAP

Seeing that you have pretty decent hardware may I suggest you to buy a 22"/24" LCD monitor? Good for both gaming and watching TV.

I saw a BenQ 24" LCD for $299 + shipping.

:toast:

My advice is to get a decent UPS to proctect your investment. :)

new motherboard and hard drive.
