the e7200? i considered that but my main reason is that i wanted (NEEDED) a 4850 and the ability to crossfire, and intel CF boards are too expensive. i can see another 4850 on the horizon very very soon (sorry wifey :D )

wanted a full tower case no matter what, an antec 1200 was my first choice but couldnt afford one, so decided to get the Xion, looks quite good thos so im pleased

ah ok, thought you were on about the "£400 build" thread

it was a tossup between the tri-core phenom or a e7200, i chose the phenom for cf support=cheaper and 3 cores are better than 2 right ? :wtf:

I think so I haven't saw many benchies of it either way I would think a tri core would be better than any dual core, good idea on the crossfire being cheaper I already have a nvidia so I went for a sli board.

I would personally apply some AS5 to the cooler, as it does run hot. Just make sure to do the fan fix when you get the card and all will be well!

EDIT: O btw I have the card and have not applied AS5 yet as I ran out, and am waiting to order some more after the summer in this heat ends...

ok cheers, ill do it anyway for peace of mind.

btw the ram ive got
(OCZ2N1066SR2GK)

has some sweet epp timings (4.4.4.15)

OCZ SLI-Ready memory modules are programmed to boot at 1066MHz DDR2 with supremely fast timings of 4-5-5. Only motherboards equipped with the custom-designed BIOS, such as those designed for NVIDIA nForce 590 SLI MCPs, can detect the optimized SPD profiles and ensure the memory functions under the best possible conditions. The exclusive OCZ SPD specifications take out the guesswork and provide enthusiasts and gamers with significant overclocked performance with no manual adjustment or compatibility issues.

well the motherboard isnt nvidia and i dont think supports epp will i be able to set these timings manually without any problems ? and its gone up £6 since i ordered, woot :rockout:
