Should i upgrade CPU also when upgrading video card?

If i get a 9800 GTX should i also buy a Q6600 or something to go along with it? My current CPU is a C2D E4400 running at stock. Also if i do get a new CPU should i upgrade it at the same time with the video card? Or should i do it one at a time(stick in vid card see if it works and then vice versa with CPU). I also don't plan to reinstall Windows and i dont OC just so you guys know.

Why have an aftermarket cooler if you don't overclock? With that motherboard, it should be pretty easy to put the E4400 to 3GHz or more, and that will be plenty for a 9800GTX.

I bought the Freezer 7 pro because my stock HSF broke. So i just said what the hell might as well get a better one. I just dont feel the need to OC.

the q6600 at a stock 2.6 gigs isn't gonna give you much performance gain over your e4400 at 2 gig, gaming wise that is.. Sure, it'll give you some, but considering what you can get for free by OC'ing your current CPU, it's not really worth the $210 for the q6600. IMHO, you ought to buy a 9800gtx and OC your current CPU to 3 gig's or more. Alot cheaper and you'll get more life out of the 4400.

By the time that "future" comes there will definitely be better quad core cpu's and you may even need/want a different build by then.

then at the very least, buy a q9450 then. The q6600 is old and dated. Yes, it's still a good CPU by todays standards, but it won't be shit by tomorrow's standards(nahalem)

Cooler. Quieter. Many peeps run aftermarket coolers without OC, or with a small OC, esp. in NAS or HTPC. Often you use an aftermarket cooler and UNDERCLOCK the CPU. Dead silent. Still enough power-for-purpose.

Heh, but the only reason to get a better CPU would be to relieve a bottleneck, you've just said you don't care about them, so save yourself some money
