I need a racing game

Does any body know of a great racing game i can get for my pc... i don't want indy car games but a game like xbox 360 Project Gotham racing or Forza
any help would be greatly appreciated

Grid is a great racing game for a game pad.
Race07 & rFactor are graphically "dated" but great fun and work best with a wheel.

Pro Street? Realism? Hardly.

GTR series, TOCA Race Driver, rFactor, WTCC Race 07..
Those are closer to real simulators.
If you don't mind console games, I don't think you can get much better than Gran Turismo 4 for PS2.

The only Need for Speed that came close to good realism was Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed. (Which is also a good, but old game)

For something more comparable to Forze or Project Gothom I'd say NFS: Pro Street...to me it seemed a little more realistic in handelling, GRID just feels more like you're in an arcade getting your groove on. Both are awesome, GRID takes the cake for graphics...too bad there isn't a FORZA or Grand Turismo PC! Noone has done it right in my book, I've been playing Gran Turismo since it's release...so most PC racing games get old quickly for me.

But like erocker said, GRID is a good game, try the demo first of any recommendations to get a feel for them (if they have a demo that is, I know GRID does). But I think ProStreet and GRID will treat you well!

Race 07 has good GFX, but tough to play, very sim like. Grid, good visually and not as hard to do as Race07. Toca3 still my favorite. Easiest to play, more diverse types, tons of cars!

Plus if you get too buzzed you can race lawnmowers or gocarts, so reation times arent as important

thanks erocker... i seen Grid in the store and was so tempted to get it but i wasn't sure so i got Crysis lol... thanks again.... tomorrow i'll pick it up..

An awesome free online multiplayer race game is trackmania: nations forever, there's a torrent for it somewhere. Also GriD is good and need for speed pro street

Just get Steam and download from there. Don't need a torrent. It's a free game with free multiplayer.

Trackmania is a FUN game. Better yet, if you have those red and blue 3D-glasses, you can play the game in 3D. It's surprisingly... well, surprising. (..but the 3D-glasses might make your head hurt after a while).

Test Drive Unlimited isn't too bad. Certainly a massive game. I thought the cars were a little hard to handle. I also thought the PS2 version might be better, but it's worse.

For more of an arcade game, I can't say anything about GRID (x850 lacks PS3.0), but the Need for Speed series is fun (though I didn't like Pro Street as much). FlatOut and FlatOut 2 were fun games too.

Has anyone tried Street Legal Racing: Redline? I think it's surprisingly good for an Activision Value game. I'd really like to see one of the bigger game companies take a spin at the concept. Handling isn't great (unless you have a wheel, then it's just hard).

There is 2 Trackmania games out the free one nations forever wich has only the one car type and one arena style of tracks while tm forever wich is 40 bucks on Steam.

Need for speed most wanted many say to be the best of the hole NFS series.. i too have it and it is fun
