Hey all i hope that you can help me with this.

I have the Cyber Acoustics 5.1 speakers - found here.

I also have a X-Fi Xtreme Fidelity sound card.

The problem is that the speakers never came with any cables so i had to use some generic audio cables of some kind to use them, so I was wandering just what cables do I really need in order to make them work to the full potential?

However, the main problem i have is that because of the sound card, and the fact that the speakers do not have a headphone socket, i have to take out the cable from the sound card and replace it with the headphones.

This has now got to be very frustrating so i was hoping of there being a way in order to get around this.

Please help!

Thank you

WL

You shouldn't need any special audio cables, the generics should be fine. That system is not high end. Any improvement in quality with more expensive cables would be psychological. You can buy a mini-jack y cable at radio shack so you can use both devices without swapping.

generic vs top brands, theres a difference. The better brands example like monster cable. There cables support higher feq and overall are a better cable.

I would agree to a point but as someone with a lot of experience doing A/V custom installations it wouldn't make any sense to use high end cables on a non-high end system. A $20,000 Linn system, sure. A $100 PC speaker set, no way. Monster is over rated and over priced.

O I see where your coming from, I was just bringing in another point. But yeah I didn't know anything about these speakers. I'm more into Creative or whatever is cheap :p
