Looks like a nice system. Intel generally doesn't make the best mb's from what I've heard, I didn't even know they had an x48 from just them, but it should be a nice rig indeed. Congrats. :toast:

I love your sistem :) Its really a bang for the buck. The mb i think its ok. I have a friend who has it and its verry good mb. I suggest a hard disk velociraptor WD to boost a little data transfer.

my first cpu with core2 + pci-x + sata-300 , wow what a diffrence :rockout: old rig was a P-D 960 3.6 @ 4.0 , 2GIGS OF DDR , ATI 1950PRO AGP , ASUS MOBO...... FAST FOR ITS DAY , NOW ITS MY MOMS ............:rolleyes:

all ready have this card http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2687630&CatId=2771 but wanted to stay with the onbiard sound, ps 4870x2 2gig, about 2 month's after thay come out

I have heard that the Extreme Audio X-Fi wasn't as powerful as the other X-Fi's and people were saying it used the same hardware as a Audigy 2 ZS.....

Thats just a warning because I don't know for sure that its true. Maybe somebody else can verify if I am right or wrong on this. :confused:

It looks fine. Just get another 4870 later on if you wish to. I would of got a QX9650 but it's your choice :).

Benchmark Scores 2cm mark on bench with a razor blade.
I think it's a great value system.
Just need to get a sound card.
X-fi extreme gamer or Auzentech Xplosion will do the trick nice and reasonable cost.
Auzentech uses the same core as Xfi BTW.
Just a few little extras with the Xplosion.
Will run future games well even at stock.
