Bought NFS Pro street other day, and i refuse to lower the resoloution below 1280x1024 and having detail set to low, the game runs like pants on my system (see spec), ive been patiently waiting for nehalem's release so i can sort a new system build, i can't find much info on 1st generation of nehalem cpu's,
anyone know when they're out? what month?

I know its last Q4 of this year, but im frustrated now because ive run into a game thats killing my machine, im getting approx 10-20 FPS. :cry:

Im happy in one sense, that ive had this system since 2004!!
ive had my moneys worth thats for sure! :toast:

If you can wait for Nahalem and you got the money for DDR3 then just wait! From what I've heard it should be out by the end of this year!

Your 1950pro can't handle NFS prostreet? I had a 1950 pro in my last AGP system with a p4 northwood 2.6 and 2 gigs ddr400 ram and could play Underground 1 and 2 at max settings(dont remember what res I was playing, but I'm pretty sure it was 1600*1200). While I havent played prostreet on the PC, on the ps2 it doesn't look any different than underground.

I got booster pack and the keys to a bugatti veyron and other hidden cars. ;)

Wonder how much faster it will be compared to the Q6600 and Q9450.

I will be waiting for some performance stats before i splash the cash.

im sure i read somewhere the nehalems were about 20% faster clock for clock, on the older quads. although i could be wrong, that will be a nice perf increase if thats the case.

actually, the 2.66 quad is suppose to be about 20% faster than the qx9770, more with the q9450 and q6600. The performance boost is suppose to be more than your thinking mullered from what I've read about it.
