How's this laptop

You know what don't listen to anyone on this forum cause this thread is just gonna end up being one of those arguements about which brand is good, if you see good specs for the price then you get whatever you want theres someone^ already saying that the blue gemstone is a POS cause he "used it at a party" just use your best judgement I had to use my best judgment when building my pc and my shit runs great, your best bet is to use your best judgment cause everyone is gonna hate each others suggestions anyways

I wasn't talking about your precious Blue Gemstone. I was talking about that one he found in his country. And yeah plastic + paint + sweaty hands = trouble. I don't have anything against Acer or any other company for that matter but as I've said that model is a POS. One of my friends still has a PIII Dell laptop from the seventies :laugh:

and after all these years aside from a crack or two it still looks almost like new. Now that Gemstone I saw couldn't possibly be older than that yet it looked like a pitbull attacked it. I know that performance is more important than looks but nowadays a laptop is more of a fashion accessory and I honestly couldn't advice anyone to buy a gadget that ends up looking like shit after a year of use...

It's the configaration+the user's levle of expertise to tweak the system which brings out performance. Xp or Vista after installing need a lot of tweaking.

This system is mainly for casual gaming, multimedia,programming. I'll be doing my engineering soon.

It depends on what you want it for.
After having got a Clevo-based one myself I cannot but suggest Clevo (Sager in the U.S.) Check this link, it's with 8400M graphics card, cost 777.94 USD. And they ship worldwide or you can find the equivalent in your country maybe.

If I get it shipped I have to pay customs+shipping which would make it expensive. The link you have given has a celron m proccy and its pretty slow.

My bad, I didn't click the 'customize' tab to check... There is a choice of better processors (at a price increase though...)

I found Clevo in India -- http://www.connoiseur.com/Notebook-list.aspx

They have the M570RU on their site. You can always contact them to see if they can customize it for you....

Why are you going limit yourself by getting that Compaq laptop???

It sounds like your main concern is getting a laptop to play games on. Why not get a laptop that can easily play the titles you wish to play?

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say price is a factor. As such, this isn't bad for a budget low end gaming rig.
