Liq cooling help..

My friend has a E8200 Clocked a 4.8 with liq cooling. avg temp is 41c but it spikes to 65c-70c for 1-2 sec then drops back down.this something he should worry about?

Has he run both the cores at 100% to see what the max temp actually is?

He can use prime95/occt maybe.

what program is he using to monitor these temps?

Also what is the realtime voltage doing in CPU-z durring these jumps in temp?

im not sure what program we used. it almost seems like the are air bubble in the cooling line.kinda how it acts. jumps to 65c then back down just as fast. it would read something like this saying it was reading every sec it would go like this
41c 41c 42c 41c 42c 65c 41c 41c 41c 68c 41c 42c 41c 72c 41c 42c 67c 41c 41c
it does not creep up it jumps up to that instant then back down just as fast.

tell your friend to download realtemp and use Orthos or Prime 95 with CPU-z as well. That way he can see what exactly is hapening, then maybe he can pass you a screenshot with his info!

Did he run the water cooling system before installing it on the chip? You have to prime it and get the air out first! Leak-test!

Yes, I agree. Sounds to me like a non-purged water cooling setup. Air builds up in the CPU block, temps spike really fast, Air pocket becomes large enough it leaves the Water block...rinse and repeat.

Too late to do anything about it now, but what sort of tubing did your friend use, non-clear/rubber?

When I ran liquid cooling on my old AMD machine (blocks on CPU & GPU) I had clear see-through tubing so any air bubbles could be spotted easily with my own eyes and be taken care of in seconds.

It was clear with green liq. I did not see any bubbles.
