Quick! Which new 24" Monitor to get?!?!?

im looking to get a nice 24" monitor no more than $450. ive been looking at the samsung monitors because i know they are nice and i currently have a 20" samsung syncmaster 204B. Question is which one to get??? i want somthing that will have a really nice picture, good for gaming, i play cod4 most of the time, and itd be nice if it could hook up to my tv, because my tv is an old 20" tube tv. what advantages does a glossy monitor have over a non glossy one? are there any cons to a glossy monitor?

I really like this one, but has a few bad ratings:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001263

Then these 2 seem almost identical, but they have no HDMI, is HDMI much better than DVI? I also like the hight adjustment and these are very simmilar to the monitor i have now just larger.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001234

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001294

then theres this one i kinda like
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001295

This is a BenQ and i really like how thin the frame is
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824014177

Then there is this BenQ which is also nice, but i dont care about the speakers but its also cheeper, but the brightness is less same with the other BenQ
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824014169

So which one to get? those are my favorite 24" ones so far from what ive seen on NE. any suggestions and advice is greatly appreciated. I kinda need to make the decicion quick because i am ordering it with my brothers parts for his new comp and he wants to order that tomorrow (friday the 26th).

Are you just going to be running your PC through it?

If so DVi will suffice and the sumsung panels are nice. TBH they all have pretty much the same specs so I guess it's all down to stuff like looks and warranty.

Out of those, if it was my money, I would go for http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001234 that. just my opinion though.

Well if you reckon you will use HDMi in the future then go with one that has it. but thats just leaves the benq, so maybe some1 can chime in about those as im not too sure about them, sorry.

TBH I never tried it with a monitor, just a tv. I would just stick with the hdmi lead though again just my opinion lol.

HDMI does not increase image quality over DVI. HDMI is DVI with sound in a much smaller and fancier form factor. That's all.

ok then to me hdmi is not much of a concern just a small added bonus, im more focused on image quality and performance. Question about Glossy monitors though... do they cause any glare? if so how bad? and if they dont cause glare do they make the image look nicer? also do they attract finger prints and dust more easily, or smudges? ive sneezed onto my monitor a few times im just wondering if that will leave smudge marks on a glossy screen?

whats the difference between that one, the 245bw and the 2443BW Black 24"?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001294

the 2443bw has a 20,000:1 DC ratio and the 245bw has only 3,000:1 DC ratio. and the 2445bw has touch bottons for the screen settings.

Weight
23.4 lbs v;s 4-5lb less for others ( about ).

Power Consumption
On: 100W
DPMS: <2W v's 1w with others.

Built in Speakers
None v's speakers on one of them ( i hate speakers on a monitor lol ).

Contrast Ratio
1000:1 (DC 3000:1) v's one of them @ DC 20000:1(1000:1) ( i think the 204B is bight enough as is in fact i have mine on 17 now so will this make it so i have mine on 3 lol ?..

I like the 2443bw for having HDMI IF one day i use it. I think LCD's are light as is some, weight i like the idea of lol.

In fact looking more at them the SAMSUNG 2443BW takes a load less power probally about 25w on a lower brightness. The 204B takes 40w at full brightness and 20w at 17%.

If me i be considering the 2443BW but would check for reviews between that and the other i said.

The BenQ V2400W got pretty good reviews over at [H] when they had a bunch of users do the testing. Check over there for more information.

As far as the Samsungs go, I would recommend you get one with a height adjust. That's one thing I don't like about my 19" BenQ (only tilts). Check out the number of people that bought & reviewed the 245BW. I would recommend that one out of all the Sammy's.

ok ill probably go with the 245BW or the 2443BW. i think the 2443BW is newer, which is why it has less reviews? turns out my bro isnt getting his parts today itll prolly be about another week so any more information is greatly appreciated.

I'd give the nod to the 245BW especially since the only thing you gain is the USB ports which are overrated IMHO. However, here is a thread that may help you decide:

I own the 245BW myself and would not give it up for anything. :rockout:

If you have a 360/ps3 then I'd get the first monitor, HDMI def. looks best and the consoles look insanely better on monitors than even the best hdtv. If not then I'd recommend the third samsung since it has a better viewing angle than the others.
