    Yeah that does not help. It's strange because my old MX440 worked much better on older games like Diablo 2 etc. Scrolling was always smooth. I think this an ATI design flaw.

    Well I have 512MB Samsung PC2700 and intel P4 @ 2.4 (Stock). I have turned off 'Wait for horizontal and vertical sync' before if that's what you mean. Still the same. :(

    How on earth did you manage to run both an agp and pci card on the same system? I lost a card about a year back because of a flash that went bad. But there was now way in hell it would start up with a pci gfx card while the agp one was still plugged in. It was a nVidia card though.

    I have the same proble as you but I notice this only with OpenGL apps. I solved the issue by changing by screen depth from 32bit to 16bit. No more checkerboard! :) Anit it's quite safe to run it like that.
