    4850x2 + 4850?

One thing that you need to keep in mind is that the CPU bottlenecks shows it ugly head when someone is running a dual core only game. That is when you need crazy clockspeed on the processor. For instance, you got near a 24000 in 3DMarks 2006, I barely broke 20000. In the "in-game" simulation...

    4850x2 + 4850?

Not to shoot down this statement, but I can run every driver from the 8.10 hotfix and up using ATi's driver on their website. I have never even visited Sapphire's site...

    4850x2 + 4850?

I am running an AM2+ board... just to make it clear. I love my Tri-Fire, it has no problem what so ever. I play at max settings with all games, no glitches... the only game with bad scaling is Crysis. But that game is a combination of CPU bottlenecking (only supports 2 cpu cores) and GPU thrashing.

    4850x2 + 4850?

Wow, if you are getting a GPU Score of 24000+, you're video card is amazing. I have yet to see anyone get that high in Performance mode with a single Geforce 295. Congratulations! Regarding the "that's all that matters"---> I don't really see the point of playing at low resolutions with a...

Hey Fellas, its Antman56... the guy who posted the forum threads for Anandtech.com and Tomshardware.com. Throw me some questions directly, if you have them. My Tomshardware Article: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/259595-33-pearly-940x4-4850x2-4850 My Anandtech Article...

HD 4850 in Single, Crossfire and Trifire: comprehensive review

Interesting Sighting: I just found a screenshot of someone with a 3850 Trifire setup. Only difference is that he is using a 4.55 GHz Processor Quadcore and his cards are overclocked. Look at his SM2/SM3 scores... those cards were getting some serious frame rates. Definitely higher than 130...

HD 4850 in Single, Crossfire and Trifire: comprehensive review

Just know that you are trying to acheive more FPS in a dual core benchmark (essentially what 3Dmarks06 is). It only uses two processor cores in the games tests ,the first two tests (used for SM2 score) and the last two tests (Used for SM3 score). I know that your 3.84 GHz Phenom 2 will...

HD 4850 in Single, Crossfire and Trifire: comprehensive review

That is a pretty impressive GPU score for 3x 3850s... higher than what I would have guessed. Not to far from a 4870x2. It definitely shows what kind of power your computer has in a 4-core gaming situation. Those were a sick investment (they have been around for awhile) Memory bandwidth on...

    Low 3DMark scores with HD4850?

Post the scores as you incrementally increase your CPU's clock speed... the result from overclocking the CPU should be radical. Don't even consider overclocking the video card until you have finished overclocking the processor... one thing at a time!

HD 4850 in Single, Crossfire and Trifire: comprehensive review

No actually. With three 3850s, he would probably get the same score as me if he had my processor. The 3800 series ATI cards benchmark SOO well in 3Dmark06... way better than they do in real games. Three 3850s should post similiar to my score, because they are so capable in this benchmark. Their...

HD 4850 in Single, Crossfire and Trifire: comprehensive review

3DMarks06 is guaranteed be bottlenecked by your processor... unless you are around 5 GHZ (to push that kind of GPU setup anyway). Since 3DMarks06 only uses 2 cpu cores in the 3D tests 1 -4... it is becoming more useless everyday (since your two cores at 3.8 have no chance at pushing 4 3850s)...

    Low 3DMark scores with HD4850?

Not to be rude, but that processor needs to be overclocked for real. At least 3.2 GHz... at least. Your processor is not powerful enough to push that graphics card at 1.8 GHz. To make it simple, the graphics card is being under utilized because the processor is not keeping it busy. It is...

HD 4850 in Single, Crossfire and Trifire: comprehensive review

Take a look at my review... its all there. There is one thing that you need to remember when you look at it though. 3DMarks 2006 only uses two CPU cores in the Four Graphical tests, though it does use 4 CPU cores on the CPU tests. So with only two Phenom 2 3.53 cores trying to push 3 graphics...

HD 4850 in Single, Crossfire and Trifire: comprehensive review

You'll appreciate this... I did a Tri-Fire review on my setup. Its really thorough... so all questions should be answered. I did a review at Anandtech.com (more people inputting): http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.aspx?catid=31&threadid=2270058&enterthread=y I also did a review at...
