Ultra HD vs Full HD. Which one is better?

    - Cost - these monitors start from €226. - Power - I don't see any problem with the power. Can you explain? - GPU demands - of course - this is because no GPU is designed in mind for such workloads. We need a new generation of GPUs capable of it. - imperfect scaling ? Ask Microsoft for better...

Ultra HD vs Full HD. Which one is better?

What do you mean by should? That I should photoshop it in order to look better? Text or nothing on 1080 can look sharp unless the display size drops well below 15 inch. The pixels are too large on a 24-inch monitor, hence the font looks also grainy because it has one-pixel width. There is very...

    AMD's next-gen RDNA 2 rumor: 40-50% faster than GeForce RTX 2080 Ti

Vega is a compute oriented architecture which behaves badly if you put it in gaming which is not its primary application area, to begin with. Probably several years ago, under the threat of bankruptcy, AMD cancelled most of the meaningful GPU projects, including a larger die size Navi 1st gen...

Editorial x86 Lacks Innovation, Arm is Catching up. Enough to Replace the Giant?

x86 lacks innovation towards low power consumption. That is a fundamental flaw in CISC and you know it. It has never been addressed. Actually, quite the opposite - Intel pursues ultra power with the hungry 10900KS, 9900KS, etc, with 200-watt and higher power consumption. Today, you can use a...

NVIDIA in Advanced Talks to Acquire Arm from SoftBank

Given how nVidia's CEO refused this kind of thing to AMD back in 2006, I don't think it will happen now either.

I think Mrs Su is wrong. ARM is the future and AMD should find a way to design new RISC CPUs.

Intel 7nm CPUs Delayed by a Year, Alder Lake in 2H-2021, Other Commentary from Intel Management

People sometimes open dozens of tabs and keep them running. Imagine if some of them keep running flash videos and other stuff in the background. Your CPU goes to 100% with ease. Not to mention that your GPU also participates and is heavily loaded. Don't underestimate the browsing. I was quite...

This is what my CPU does when I open YouTube in 9 new tabs.

Intel 7nm CPUs Delayed by a Year, Alder Lake in 2H-2021, Other Commentary from Intel Management

Wrong. Those percentages are when the tab is idle. When you load the tab, you get your CPU up to 100% load.

Don't browsers use a logical/physical core per open tab?

Intel 7nm CPUs Delayed by a Year, Alder Lake in 2H-2021, Other Commentary from Intel Management

This is quite disputable. There are always running applications, services and updates which quite heavily load the office computer.
