Technical Issues - TPU Main Site & Forum (2021)

LMAO. This is not the EasyList maintainers being difficult. This is W1zzard continuously trying to circumvent the filters that those guys have put in place. Which makes users mad because either ads are no longer being blocked, or things that shouldn't be blocked are. So they post issues on...

RTX 3080 and GTX 1060 frametime spikes

People aren't telling you to use a different PSU because they think your current PSU is insufficient. They're telling you to do so to rule out the PSU as a possibility. The only way to confirm that this is a hardware issue is by methodically replacing one single component at a time, then...

NVIDIA AIC Partners Clarify RTX 3080/3090 Crash to Desktop Issues, Capacitor Choices

That was true until Boost came along, because Boost is basically a manufacturer-guaranteed overclock. But there's the devil in the details: Boost is guaranteed; overclocks by users are not.

NVIDIA AIC Partners Clarify RTX 3080/3090 Crash to Desktop Issues, Capacitor Choices

@Raevenlord please order by manufacturer name, alphabetically, thank you! A friendly reminder to all the fanboys: this only happens when overclocking, and overclocking is not guaranteed, in fact overclocking is warranty-voiding, so there really isn't any cause for blaming NVIDIA or its AIBs, so...

AMD Radeon "Navy Flounder" Features 40CU, 192-bit GDDR6 Memory

2.5GHz @ 170W TBP is impossible unless we are talking an incredibly tiny chip. Not gonna happen. That's a massive amount of die space and transistors to be wasting for no good reason. No designer is going to (be allowed to) do that because it's essentially throwing money away. If they want to...

RTX 3080 Crash to Desktop Problems Likely Connected to AIB-Designed Capacitor Choice

It's almost like computer silicon gets unstable when you clock it past its limits. Almost like this has been true since silicon has been used in computers. Almost like overclock instability related to silicon limits has nothing to do with capacitor choice. Almost like this is a non-issue that...

Nobody knows because this is a THEORY.

RTX 3080 Crash to Desktop Problems Likely Connected to AIB-Designed Capacitor Choice

Too many unknowns to tell. Igor's speculation is just that, speculation - but somehow his "possible" gets turned into "likely" by TPU's clickbait editors. Once again, shameful yellow journalism on par with WCCFTech.

    Best Gpu for 1080p@75hz?

NVIDIA isn't competing with consoles, it's competing with itself. Their release schedule is unchanged from previous generations: release the most powerful GPU first, then some time later the one further down the stack, then the next one down, etc. in order to get people to buy the most powerful...

    Which GTX1660 Super?

It seems to vary depending on which site you look. Even if 1070 is same perf or slightly under 1660S, for €70 less and 2GB more VRAM it's still better value in my books. Likely no warranty for a second-hand 1070 though.

    Which GTX1660 Super?

1070 is about 10% faster than 1660 SUPER and has 2GB more memory to boot. If you can get a 1070 for €70 less than a new 1660S then I'd definitely go for the former. None of the 1660S you've listed have the 1x HDMI/3x DP config that would give them a bit more longevity, look at...
