Had this problem in the past contact the compagny where you bought it and return it if posiable. If you can't return the card anymore try to contact ATI and try get a new one there. The more you use this GPU to try and solve the problem the more ATI will go QQ about user abuse.

I think the titel is pretty mush enough, although i want to say if you compare the cards you will see that the Single 6970 has a little bit more MHz on the memory so what would be better for my system. PS: i am aware of the more power consumption when i use 2x 6970. LINK to my system...

Depends of the processor speed i mean when the link runs 1:1 (refering to CPU/RAM) 800 mhz is faster. When u really want to have a good and high benchmark result 1066 will be better atleast that is what i experienced.
