Games will be the death of me

Yeah, I guess it's too late now, but here's the response I should have given: I don't know, I think the CPU might be a bit weak for that. :p

Games will be the death of me

I like the way you think. This is probably for a different thread, but I need to check for the realistic street dates of these fabled next-gen cards. :pimp:

    Bioshock - worth the wait

There needs to be a 3rd option: "Didn't wait that long because didn't know about it until recently, but looking forward to playing it soon." I'd pick that one. I've been looking forward to it for the past several months, but not years as I guess some fans have??

Games will be the death of me

You think so?? I've had good experiences with SLI in the past. In fact, I was around during the early days of SLI when you would use two Voodoo2's together. SLI stood for something else back then (late 90's), but it was still 2 video cards working as one. But more recently, I used to run two...

Games will be the death of me

I'm just finishing up with my latest gaming machine upgrade. Specs are in my profile. My next purchase will be a 2nd 8800GTS for running SLI, and hopefully a bigger monitor or multiple-monitor setup with a Triple Head to Go thingy. As if this machine needs a 2nd video card though. It cuts...

    Sli vs Xfire

I think the point is there really isn't any hard evidence supporting one technology over the other (SLI vs. Crossfire). FWIW, you should really only expect a 40% increase in benchmark scores or FPS in most games when adding a second GPU. In some extreme cases you can see more, and in some...

    Pentium D Overclock

Yes, I am actually running the 2 together now and they have worked great so far. I purchased both from Newegg back in late June. At that time, I obviously researched and made sure that everything was compatible. I have recently returned to MSI's web site and found that they no longer list the...

    Pentium D Overclock

Tried a whole bunch of things tonight, but not really sure where I left off. In the BIOS, I was able to use the 'Linked' option which allows me to change the Bus Speed (to a value between 400 and 1400, 800 being the default). Changing this automatically adjusts the memory speed using the...

    Pentium D Overclock

I was thinking about getting an 805 vs. the 930 for its ability to clock so well. But thought that in the long run, I'd be better off with the chip with better features and the smaller size. Is that a safe bet? Anyway...tigger...I tried a few things last night and really ended up in a bad...

    Pentium D Overclock

:p I'm sorry You're being so cool and trying to help me out and I'm just being a lamo by not replying....my bad!!! I tried last night to lock in the DDR frequency by setting that to Manual - and entering 800 for FSB and 667 for the Memory. I switched back to Windows and tried to let Core...

    Pentium D Overclock

I didn't see anything related to adjusting the PCI clock - isn't that 'frozen' in nForce boards? I can change PCI Latency timer currently at 64. Also see PCIE Frequency (MHz) which is at lowest - 100. Can go up to 148. Not even sure what that one does!!

    Post your 3dmark06 SCORES !!!! =p

3D Mark 06: 4750 SM 2.0: 2128 SM 3.0: 1856 CPU: 1505 This is actually 'without' using the SLI Bridge adater - lol. I expect once that gets in, my scores should go up a bit. Before going SLI with the 6800 Ultras, I was at 2961.

    Pentium D Overclock

Success w/ MSI Board Hate to bump a semi-old thread, but I found this to be a good discussion. I've reviewed a good portion of what you guys have wrote so far and have enjoyed it. I recently purchased a Pentium D 930 and have paired it with an MSI board (P4N Diamond). I'm beginning to wonder...
