Review Consensus: AMD FX Processor 8150 Underwhelming

LOL that's an insult to Phenom. A theoretical Phenom III would have been better than Zambezi. :p

    HD 5850 or HD 4870x2

Oh indeed sir, we didn't get around to running OC'd Benchmarks as we work helpdesk @ IBM and got busy. I'd like to OC my card some more but I'm afraid to mess with voltages. But as far as head to head graphics, Crysis Warhead runs the same on max settings on both cards. Too bad that playing...

    Quick Question on Video ram

So I have an ASUS 4870x2 with the 3 fans, when I go into Catalyst is says the card has 3836MB or memory. What's the deal with this? Is the card using system memory as well as the card memory? IF so, I thought DX10 cards were designed to not use system memory. Rig: Processor: AMD 940 Phenom...

Best mem choice for Asus M3A79-T?

GAH! that's retarded. I was hoping I could find a loop hole in it all and still get away with using the faster memory. So should I just hold off until march when the new chipset is released and get the 945 on an AM3 mobo?

Best mem choice for Asus M3A79-T?

OK something just occurred to me. if I'm going to use the Phenom II 940 (which is designed for DDR3) on and the AM2+ mobo, wouldn't I be able to use DDR1066 in all mem banks? since it was the original Phenoms that limited the DDR1066 to only 1 mem bank per channel?

Best mem choice for Asus M3A79-T?

So I'm building a pc that's going to last me a some years before i gotta build a new one. I'm going with a Phenom II X4 940, Asus M3A79-T, and an Asus variant of the 4870X2. Ok so the board is rated for DDR2-1066 but can only run 1066 in 1 bank per channel. Why allow 1066 in only one bank per...

    trying everything need help here

when you overclock the cpu you generally need to overclock the ram too. in your case it seems just a little bit. research over clocking the ram, changing your timings and latency may help get you to a stable point.
