  • I'm at the hospital waiting to have cancer surgery in two hours. A Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate the holidays. TPU will be my link to sanity until I go home to recover. Take care and stay safe. Rob
The countdown is on. PET scan at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow to see where the cancer has spread to. I failed my PSA last month spectacularly. 5 year 8 month survivor so far.

Try to stay positive bobbybluz. There seem to be a lot of treatment options for prostate cancer relative to some other forms of cancer. My doc told me they're even working w/using white blood cells to go after cancerous prostate cells. I don't even have a prostate gland anymore.

I suspect I'll have to do another 90 days of radiation at a minimum. If I'd known I was going to live this long I would have taken much better care of my body but wouldn't have had nearly as much fun as I did.

Your comment reminds me of a Benny Hill skit where he's interviewing a senior citizen (an Irish guy whose name escapes me) and asks him if he lived a life of debauchery and degeneracy. When he says no, Benny replies: "so you didn't even enjoy getting to look that way?"
The cat in my profile picture, Kiddo, crossed the Rainbow Bridge this afternoon. She was somewhere around 20 years old and I got her as a rescue in 2014. 100% Siamese in every aspect and I was her human. I've had cats my entire life and losing her hurts the most by far.

I adopted a super sweet two year old male Tuxedo from the Humane Society today. We named him "Slim". Time will tell if he'll keep my ankles warm while I'm sitting in my chair working on PC's. My cats have always kept me company when I'm working on computers or guitars.

Sadly my Siamese Kiddo in the picture is blind now. It happened quickly about 4-5 weeks ago. She's adapting well though. It's a common problem with Seal Point Siamese cats her age.

Glad you could reach proper treatments for this cancer . Avoid all fast-release sugar food. I hope things go better than before for you mate

Ah, precious cat. I wonder if that is because of a certain lower produced protein needed for the retina or something related to their eyes.:(

I have more cancer retests coming up at the end of April. My PSA is climbing up again and it's likely I'll have to go through treatment again. I've made it 5 years and three months since the initial diagnosis and beginning treatments. I've lost 5 friends to cancer in that time, the most recent two weeks ago.
